We have hardly heard from or seen articles about Palin since she announced she wasn’t running, whereas this place was Palin Central before she announced she was not going to be a candidate. This speaks to the power of her celebrity.
Her true value, though, is when the MSM aren’t around, and she’s doing the hard, boring work of party-building.
Just because we like someone doesn’t mean he or she could or should be president. Someone who’s great at something won’t necessarily be great at everything. I think when people cool down they will see Palin, like every human being ever, had flaws alongside her qualities.
Unlike 99% of folks who run for president, though, when that is off the table, we don’t just stop thinking of her as a political entity. She can and does articulate conservative positions with a fierceness the wusses in DC simply do not have.
We need to turn the GOP into a conservative party. It is a place for the Bob Doles and John McCains now, and it shouldn’t be. Once that is remade, then we will see more true conservatives running for office.
Just as with Christine O’Donnell, when someone is no longer running (or isn’t running when we hoped they would), we cool down and see them with clear eyes. In O’Donnell’s case some of us, at least, see what a truly horrible candidate she was, and what a horrible politician she’d have been. In Palin’s case, some of us may see she is still just as talented as some thought, but her talents (as she proved in 2010) are in party-building, and that could be her true calling.
Palin is in a fight to wrest control of the GOP from Washington insiders. I don’t think she will win, at least not this election cycle.
The GOP Establishment will elect Obama rather than let Herman Cain win. They will NOT relinquish control to a Washington outsider.

Article: American Crony Capitalism Brings Jobs to Finland
.by Sarah Palin on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 1:09pm.
“Yesterday, another shoe dropped in the chronicles of the Obama administrations crony capitalism. A start-up electric car company with ties to Al Gore got a $529 million loan guarantee from Obamas Department of Energy to build luxury electric cars...in Finland! Leaving aside the fact that to date only two of these $97,000 cars have been sold (one of them to a movie star), we might at least hope that this ridiculous exercise in the government picking winners minus any competitive, transparent process (Al Gores venture cap firm) and losers (the taxpayers subsidizing a car no one wants) would produce manufacturing jobs in the United States. Isnt that the alleged purpose of Obamas stimulus giveaways?”

Haven’t seen you around n a while. You have stated with real clarity how much more of a factor that Mrs. Palin can be in returning this country to it’s conservative roots.
