A bear cub wandered into a grocery store in Ketchikan, Alaska, on Saturday, and climbed up on the fruits and vegetables in the produce case.
KRBD Radio in Ketchikan reported that police were called as the cub wandered back and forth in the case at Tatsuda's IGA; officers responded, and assisted as a customer got a hold of the cub and carried it outside, as seen in the video below.
Store employees reported that the cub entered the store through automatic doors.

More than likely a cell-phone camera. we are probably going to see more of this sort of thing in the future, not because of habitat destruction, but because more people will have these cameras.

I love the way the cop does *absolutely nothing* but wiggle his fingers in the direction of the cub [to distract him?] and he’s the one with gloves on....the customer picks him up bear-handed! LOL

My other favorite from the video...couldn't hear what was initially said, but a man's voice replies, "Yeah, I was worried about that too."
You just know they are discussing the whereabouts of an agitated Mama Bear.

Mother bears often birth multiple cubs and allow one to starve so the other cub is healthy. This poor little guy was probably run off by momma and he was hungry.

Indeed. Probably pulled off his Union break.
The “customer” sure looked like he knew what to do, I don’t know if I would grab even a cub half that size.
Finally, was that the Cub wailing at the end? Guess I would too, if I was removed from a food paradise.

My 26 yoa daughter shot a 500lb plus blk bear last year at 20 feet. No weak heart there.

Says that the store threw away all the fruits and veggies that the bear climbed on. Geez... seems they could’ve at least sent the little guy away with a bag of groceries, if they’re just gonna throw ‘em out.
Of course they’d have to make him promise not to tell momma where he got them.

Of course the bear clawed someone - that bagel had NO LOX ! ! !
