Dear Occupy Wall Street Protesters,
It took me awhile to figure out what was bothering me about you. It certainly wasn't because I'm indifferent to the recession. In the last three years, I've had my ass kicked a lot harder than most of my friends, what with losing my house, my car, and my savings, so yeah, protest seems appropriate. Especially, as we enter a third year with no sign of progress.

Jobs are high-paying only when demand exceeds supply thus new fields of endeavor must be continually created to provide high-paying jobs or being added faster than supply of workers. (Unpleasant, undesirable jobs that are necessary also will pay well - think plumber). Computer programming was well paid for that very reason.
Government regulations and subsidies have blocked much innovation except where someone, say Steve Jobs, produced an innovation so new that no business/politician cabal could block it - the PC.
Government schools no longer taught, they indoctrinated, providing a workforce incapable of filling the high-paying jobs so the demand was met by foreigners.
Voila, millions of people from middle-class families that could not earn middle-class wages trying to serve burgers to people that worship burgers. Social upheaval.
Its a huge gamble and they are dreaming.
Just read it. It’s an excellent article. I disagree with his political opinion, but this article really does bring out some very good points, regardless of your political belief.
I especially liked his zoo/tiger analogy.
When he talks about the failure of government to properly regulate he sounds like a tea partier. Maybe he’ll go the next step and think about Barney and Chris and ‘roll the dice’.
