There was some good information in the movie about what she did in Alaska and it’s in such direct contrast to the picture painted of her by the nutcase leftists including Matt Damon, etc. She was doing a good job and they decided to take her down.
It makes me sick. In fact, I felt like crying. We aren’t the same country imagined in Mr Smith Goes to Washington - that could never happen now.
“...We arent the same country imagined in Mr Smith Goes to Washington - that could never happen now...”
That is probably the truest statement ever spoken...
And I’m under the belief that it never could have happened THEN, either. Politics has always been about money and power - who has it, who wants it, what they’ll do to get it, and who they’ll kill (figuratively and literally) to keep and maintain it. The real enemy is the “THEY” we always refer to - this nebulous, untouchable cabal of wealthy, liberal/socialist power brokers on both sides of the aisle.
And who are “they”? That’s the real question, isn’t it? Put a face on them, a name, and an identity, and they become “touchable”.
We get played, back and forth, between one side or the other, constantly.
Makes me sick too. You’re not alone.
