Cain handled himself pretty well as a new "frontrunner" but is staking a lot on 999--it was news to me that perishable food will be taxed. I do like his bold thinking, however.
Romney did just what he needed to do - not hurt himself. That said, he's still a weasel.
Perry was better and even had strong answer but was effectively ignored now that he's no longer the piñata.
Romney slipped Chris Christie's endorsement in there. The camera even briefly showed Christie at one point. Romney's soft ball to Bachmann was transparent.
Ron Paul's best point was that no one should act like it was all in the past two years. He's not the only one pointing it out, however. It's important the candidates feel free to criticize W's spending habits.
All that said, I think Obama wins reelection.
Thank you very much!
For a time, I thought Gingrich was in this to promote himself. in terms of book sales, appearances, and so forth, but he is doing very well in these debates. Romney would have to name an evangelical to the ticket to shore up the base. Why not Herman Cain? Cain would not have to worry about the base, but might need somebody with the credentials of Gingrich for VP. Continuing with this thinking: With Cain/Gingrich, I figure Huntsman for State and Romney for Treasury.
The prohibition on electors voting for two candidates from their own state seems a tad antiquated in view of the mobility of the population nowadays. While he represented Georgia in the House of Representatives, Newt was born and raised in Pennsylvania and currently resides in Virginia. So, there would be no Constitutional obstacle to electors from Georgia voting for a ticket of Cain and Gingrich.
ROSE: Senator Santorum?
SANTORUM: Romney's before me, R.
ROSE: No, I'm sorry. You're right. Governor Romney?
(LAUGHTER)
Very good. I — I missed school that day.
(CROSSTALK)
ROSE: I missed school that day when they said R is before S.
GINGRICH: Think of us as your...
(CROSSTALK) (LAUGHTER)
ROMNEY: You'd think someone from PBS would know that.

Yes my understanding of the rule is that they go by your residence at the time of the election.
Loved it when Newt stunned the media and other candidates with his attack on Bernake, the federal reserve, Barney Frank and others. He is ready to put them in jail...did you see the look on the faces of the panel? sheer shock! the media is a “tad” intimidated by Newt ...he is our only hope but will the rest unite behind him? I think Newt/Cain ...did a lot of reading before I came to this conclusion
