Whe your intrusive, float-over, real media, crap ads tell me I can close the ad in 12 seconds, be aware I can exit your site in 0.12 seconds.

Add to that the cap I have on “high speed” web usage, and I’ll definitely go for the .12 second option every time!
I hate those float-overs.
Some of them you have to chase around the page like a freaking video game.
Others leave screen artifacts that corrupt the page, forcing you to close and go back in.
I’m not talking about Human Events specifically, but those irritating floating ads in general.

And if you have a problem with the (cough) President, why don’t you go post it on Whitehouse.gov, and don’t waste our time with it??
I hate those too. Everybody does.
But they have to pay for their site somehow.
And people have proven reliably reluctant to dip into their pockets for web content.
I guess if you can’t stand it, don’t go there. For everyone else, it’s simply the price you have to pay.
Does anyone get the voice pop ups?? It’s awful, all of a sudden you’re hearing an ad. I have to press mute of course, but it’s weird.

Yeah, those are embarassing. Especially when you work in a cube. :)
I normally keep my speaker off completely just for that reason. But when I forget an leave it on and then hit a site like that, I bet I visibly jump out of my chair. :0
If I have a problem with the president I will post it here. If I have a problem with a great website like Human Events I will contact them instead of whining about it on Free Republic.
Best solution to a float-over ad is to hit F5 key for refresh....

Me neither. But I guess it only takes a few suckers to make it worth while.
