Hank Williams Jr. is about to have his say.

Williams' has cut a new song "I'll Keep My ...," calling out "Fox & Friends" and ESPN after an interview last week on the Fox News talk show led to the end of his association with the sports network and "Monday Night Football," long home to his "Are you ready for some football?" theme.

He's also scheduled to appear on "The View" and "Hannity" on Tuesday to discuss the uproar...

If he had said the same exact thing about Bush four years ago, he would have been hailed as a hero by state-controlled media.

“Fox & Friends” this morning ran Saturday Night Live’s parody of their original interview with Hank Jr. Not bad but they guy they had impersonating Brian Kilmeade must weigh at least 75 pounds more than Brian.

“Why the hell would he waste his time on a tv show with lesbians?”

Because a couple of them (Whoopi - whoda thunk it?) agree with him and said ESPN stepped on his 1st Amendment rights. It’s buried deep in the article linked there, or one of the associated videos, I forget which...

How exactly did Fox and Friends twist his words exactly?

So let me understand this. Williams said something he probably shouldn't have on Fox and Friends, and now he blames Fox and Friends for his own error in judgment, writes a song complaining about Fox, and then goes on the View and commiserates with Whoopie and Joy Behar. And here is what he said on his blog:

Whoopi and Joy understood what I was saying," Williams mused on his blog. "After watching the clip of their show, I knew I needed to talk to them first. Who knows Whoopi may run for President and I’ll be her Vice President…now that will really stir it up!"

And why are people here defending this guy exactly?

He should just write another lyric to “Family Tradition” and call it “Liberal Tradition”.

Something like:

Why do you spend? why do you blow smoke? etc.

Come on Hank, we need you.

I agree with your statement regarding Fox & Friends. I, too was a little upset with the 3 that morning, as I did watch the show live. Hank was NOT in good shape, was acting pretty bizarre, actually, but after his interview Gretchen said something like “this is not the view of Fox”. Hank Jr. did not call Ozippy Hitler, but said it was LIKE Hitler meeting with Bibi. Big difference.

ESPN can stuff it. In general, this administration has done more to advance division and hatred in this counntry than any president that I can remember and I can remember “I like Ike” campaign buttons. Nixon looks like a choir boy in comparison to zippy.

Educate your lefty friends with the truth if they’ll listen and ask them why it’s ok for someone else to “steal” your money when you earned it. Bring it down to their level. Ask that mouthy college student if HE is willing to share his A’s with a flunkout student and both get C’s. Look at his face and you will see you might just prove your point.

Off topic but, my mom’s theory was always to pay everyone FULL salary in CASH, then force you to physically HAND tax money to each, state tax man, federal tax man, SSec. Man, etc. She said taxes would stop in a heartbeat! Same as giving your A’s to a lazy student.

Good point.

When's the last time an MSM presentation, i.e. anything from the SuperBowl, Oscars etc. pull a liberal performer because their outspoken political views were too "controversial"?

It's the great normalization process. It's not working here.

It's only the conservative speakers who get pied.

He’s blaming ESPN AND FOX? Seriously? I met the guy once, and I thought he had more class than that. I agree ESPN screwed him over (just like Rush), but Fox didn’t. Someone asked your opinion, and you made a very bad choice of words, Bocephus. S*** happens, be a man about it!

No question about it. He came to here to MO to campaign for McCain and appeared with Palin during her appearance her.

There’s another song that suits Hank and it is this (if you have time to listen)

Well true, it is somewhat surprising that he went to the view. Somehow I can’t quite visualize Hank watching that show LOL. He probably doesn’t; he probably remembers the Whoopi from the 80s; who at that time was a charming entertainer (entertainer being the key word there). They (the view) must have treated him decently because I’m sure he wouldn’t have sat there and take a bunch of BS.

Regarding something he shouldn’t have said...it was only an analogy; an accurate one. It points out just how far apart the ideology is between Conservatives and the radical left.

The rub comes in because people started saying he actually called the marxist...Hitler. imo

Yeah, I know, but a good rule of thumb is - DON'T make Hitler comparisons. Just don't do it. Never drop the Hitler card for any reason when discussing current events or modern politics - there is just far too much risk of getting oneself in trouble.

If Hank doesn't know what Whoopi represents or what The View is all about, then he is completely politically ignorant and should refrain from discussing such subjects.

As is, he is making himself a tool of the moonbats. Whining about Fox News, and going on liberal outlets to get back in the good graces of the left. Just a bad, bad idea all around.

I agree he didn't really say anything terribly wrong and shouldn't have been fired from MNF, but Hank is just making things far worse.

In any case, it’s an intresting distraction (temporarily). The first amendment has had enough beatings; you or I may not use Hitler (although I have...anyone reading his rise to power cannot help but see the similarities to this current POS and his ilk)but...he did. To make a big issue out of it is ridiculous. He may be over-reacting but that is what he is doing...reacting.

If he wants to do that more power to him. Apparently Whoopi agreed with him regarding 1st Amendment and that’s the reason for the appearance.

While I somewhat agree, there were some noticible differences. Hank did NOT call obama Hitler, and he was asked point blank how he felt. He did not go there and just start spouting politics like most liberals. He was asked what he thought and he told them.
