I had signed up on FR after my overnight subzero wait to meet Sarah for her booksigning (I still have 3 extra signed books). I did not view her possible candidacy as destiny or anything so dramatic, but I had sincerely hoped for it as Sarah is a Godly, wise and brave woman and seems to be so much the opposite of Obama. One of the things that truly impressed me was her advocacy for Israel. I wish Sarah and her family well.
The reason I had hoped for a Palin candidacy was that I had believed that she may be able to start to right the sinking ship that is America. But I fully accept that it will not be the case at least until 2016 (and very possibly never). And for those that likewise believed that Palin was meant to be our candidate, there was once a possibility that even Queen Esther would refuse to be the person that would be instrumental in rescuing Israel. Esther chose to participate, but her uncle Mordecai made it clear that if not Esther, then there would be someone else. My hope for a Palin candidacy was never about Sarah herself. It was because I believed she was someone who would courageously follow the truths of God as it relates to public life and policy. If she will not be a candidate, we must move on and accept that there are reasons for such outcomes.
One thing that is now readily apparent is the fallacy that some believed that Sarah would somehow be more effective at promoting conservative causes as a non-candidate. Sarah was very effective ONLY because of the possibility that she may become president. Without that possibility, she is not much different than someone like Condi Rice--at one time very relevant for America, and for now much less so. To see that Sarah was very instrumental in guiding the 2010 elections and thinking that she could wield such influence even after public knowledge that Sarah was not running -- well that's just very shortsighted.
It's not super important that we decide on a candidate right now. We knew Sarah well -- we may need to look wisely to see who is a genuine conservative that will win. It's important to me however, that we win in 2012 -- I'd even take a win with a less conservative candidate rather than have the alternative outcome.
This is a farewell to all those who have worked so hard for Sarah and America. Thanks Onyx, 2ndDiv, SE Ohio, Virginia Ridgerunner, and so many others. You guys were truly fantastic and tireless. Much admiration for your incredible and gargantuan effort that everyone here knows about. This is probably my last post regarding Sarah. May God forgive and bless America.
Haw Hoo!
More like wusses then men!
That’s not what I asked for - I asked for you to back up your words and tell us what Republicans were hurt because she’s not entering the race that you claim.
Where is it?
Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Rick Perry.
Seriously though, this election has caused a deep divide amongst conservatives and some won’t stop with the accusations and down right meanness.
Sometimes I just can’t help myself from biting back.
One of those so-called sunshine patriots, eh?
JC
You are way too needy.
Post the candidates who you claim were hurt and how they were hurt. You said it 2x and can’t seem to back it up. Let’s wrap this up and see if credibility has any importance to you.
Isn’t it past your bedtime?
Back up what you said - HOW WERE they were hurt?
How many times do you need to be asked? Now that you flung that smear against Sarah and that she’s responsible for it - BACK UP YOUR WORDS!
Let’s take a step back and realize that Sarah is not running.
I don’t understand how her not entering the race has so many people pissed.
She was pretty clear that she wasn’t going to get wrapped up in a campaign for office again.
If she was to re enter politics, she would be smart to run for John Kyles senate seat and fill a full term.
Go wash your mouth.
Rush Limbaugh said a month ago that Michele Bachmann was hurt by Palin not announcing. The media disliked Palin, so they wouldn’t release polls about candidates being hurt by Palin not announcing. You’re saying now that Palin didn’t have a large group of supporters who were going to vote for her, so you sound like her enemies.
I aint mean, but I know what you are saying.
Come kiss my ass!
“She went on a bus tour. There was the Undefeated release. Those were all indications that she was running.”
No, they were not, except in your imagination. They were a road trip vacation and a documentary countering some of the falsehoods promulgated about her. Some of you folks just made up a wish list and treated it like gospel; now you want to blame her for your fake storyline!
JC
OK I am going to bed.
No one would have cared about those things unless she was going to be running for president. She took advantage of it. Why did she use that bus for a vacation?
Night My.
Gnight
