Deep Reflections from a True Palinista (Vanity but Important)

Posted on 10/09/2011 8:50:20 PM PDT by SarahPalin2012

I had signed up on FR after my overnight subzero wait to meet Sarah for her booksigning (I still have 3 extra signed books). I did not view her possible candidacy as destiny or anything so dramatic, but I had sincerely hoped for it as Sarah is a Godly, wise and brave woman and seems to be so much the opposite of Obama. One of the things that truly impressed me was her advocacy for Israel. I wish Sarah and her family well.

The reason I had hoped for a Palin candidacy was that I had believed that she may be able to start to right the sinking ship that is America. But I fully accept that it will not be the case at least until 2016 (and very possibly never). And for those that likewise believed that Palin was meant to be our candidate, there was once a possibility that even Queen Esther would refuse to be the person that would be instrumental in rescuing Israel. Esther chose to participate, but her uncle Mordecai made it clear that if not Esther, then there would be someone else. My hope for a Palin candidacy was never about Sarah herself. It was because I believed she was someone who would courageously follow the truths of God as it relates to public life and policy. If she will not be a candidate, we must move on and accept that there are reasons for such outcomes.

One thing that is now readily apparent is the fallacy that some believed that Sarah would somehow be more effective at promoting conservative causes as a non-candidate. Sarah was very effective ONLY because of the possibility that she may become president. Without that possibility, she is not much different than someone like Condi Rice--at one time very relevant for America, and for now much less so. To see that Sarah was very instrumental in guiding the 2010 elections and thinking that she could wield such influence even after public knowledge that Sarah was not running -- well that's just very shortsighted.

It's not super important that we decide on a candidate right now. We knew Sarah well -- we may need to look wisely to see who is a genuine conservative that will win. It's important to me however, that we win in 2012 -- I'd even take a win with a less conservative candidate rather than have the alternative outcome.

This is a farewell to all those who have worked so hard for Sarah and America. Thanks Onyx, 2ndDiv, SE Ohio, Virginia Ridgerunner, and so many others. You guys were truly fantastic and tireless. Much admiration for your incredible and gargantuan effort that everyone here knows about. This is probably my last post regarding Sarah. May God forgive and bless America.

Romney is now pro-life, and is good no the economy and defense. He isn’t a backer of same-sex marraige now. But I still don’t support him.

Remember that incident with Bristol Palin in the Club, where she confronted the man who called her mother a whore, evil and white trash while denigrating Bristol sexually. That happened September 22nd. Sarah announced she wasn't running two weeks later. That incident could have very easily got out of hand and it's the one incident that really sticks with me because of the potential for violence. It doesn't take much to step it up to a physical confrontation from someone who can say those kinds of things in public. In a different time, someone would have taught this guy some manners, if you what I mean , but we don't live in those times anymore.

I don't think she was playing games. I think she really wanted to run, but realized that her family was going to be at great risk. I think that incident with Bristol really drove that message home. I can only imagine the things we don't know about. I wouldn't put it past one these lefties to take a shot at Sarah or one of her kids. Especially her kids. You know, don't kill 'em, just wound 'em. After all, they are compassionate Liberals. Send them a clear message to go home, for the sake of the country dontcha know.

You’re being dishonest. You are having it both ways. You want to say Palin had a lot of supporters, but on the other hand you are saying she didn’t hurt the other candidates by waiting until the end to announce.

I'm not being dishonest about anything. You're basing everything upon a premise that you've yet to demonstrate, and can't because it's false, therefore, your consequences are also going to false, like this charge against me.

Look, I think I've been very patient with you and if you want some advice, then stop arguing from a position of pride, because that's all you're really doing. Take a break and clear your head. You're running almost entirely on emotion right now, and it shows in your arguments.

What is false? I am saying that it’s possible that she didn’t have large group supporting her. If she did have a large base supporting her, then she was hurting the other candidates by announcing so late. The media did not like Palin, so they would not release any polls to show that she had a large base of support, which could be hurting the other candidates, so I can’t prove to you with any polls.

Every time she speaks, folks will wonder what SHE is doing on the sidelines instead of the others. She’ll be like the back-up QB who hears the chants from the crowd while the starter is drawing boos. Bob

Why, because I passionately supported a successful, competent executive, unafraid to speak the truth that the others are either inexperienced, charlatans or bad on critical issues? We, and America, DESERVE less than the best! Bob

He’s so great you feel the need to say things about Sarah the world knows aren’t true? Right, some candidate that is - WEAK!

My sentence was confusing *I* am the person who is unhappy with the candidates based upon the aforementioned reasons. Where am I wrong? Look, I’ll be honest, no criticism of Sarah or her supporters bothers me at all now. All I am upset about is her decision not to run. I’m looking for the LEAST poor facsimile now. I’m not going to lie; I am unimpressed with all of them for various reasons.

Exactly!

I love everything Sarah ever said, and love her and her family, and respect Todd, and still do, but she was deceptive..............

and millions bought into the deceipt, including me.
