You are correct. And she will find that truth out eventually. Power comes from being or potentially being a candidate. Celebrity does not have power. It is waning even to this very hour. And while there may yet be another Esther, it may be also that we simply perish as a free people too... when even our best and brightest leaders fail to show true courage.

Either Palin runs, or this country is TOAST. She can either save America, or stick the shiv in America’s back.

Maybe I missed something here. I thought the reason people liked Sarah was, well, because she is so often so right.

Yes, that could make for fine Presidential material, but if she decides not to run, do her brains suddenly fall out?

No.

Why do I get the distinct impression that so many supporters (fans?) are moping about like jilted teenagres?

Sarah remains an impressive and attractive lady, imho, impressive not only for what she has done, but for the beliefs and positions she has advocated for years now.

Is she somehow suddenly wrong? No.

Those same self-evident truths continue to be the truth and she is a powerful spokesperson for those beliefs.

...aren’t from Romney and his allies. They’re from liberals.

>>Snort!<<<

That was a joke, right?

No offense, but what power is she wielding? No cheerleader has ever won a game for her team. She can rally the troops to a small extent, but that’s about it. The more impressive her speeches, the more she will dwarf the actual nominee. Blessings, Bob

She won't be dwarfing the actual nominee. All three of the front-runners are doing a fine job of that all by themselves.

It hurt the other Republicans in the field, because many voters were still undecided, and I believe she knew awhile ago that she wasn’t running.

How did this hurt other Republicans in the field?

By appearing as if she might run, she drew a lot of fire from the media which other candidates didn't get aimed at them. People followed her and her family around on vacation, at great expense to the MSM. Those resources were not spent attacking other Republicans, most of whom have self destructed at the podium.

She bought them time, she provided the diversion.

Knowing full well that she might not run (those of us who remember last time, when she was attacked for wearing a wardrobe provided for her at a fraction of the cost of one Moochelle vacation, knew this was a possibility--who'd want more of that crap, especially five years of it?), at least some of us took a good look at the other candidates.

Some never got out of the starting blocks (Mitt, McCotter, Newt), some experienced problems along the way (Bachmann), and others just are not it--but we took a look.

Many of us wish she would run, after all, she was our first choice among the possibles out there, but had selected a runner-up in case she did not.

As for when she knew she would not be running, she said this was a decision she would make with her family. I have little doubt she agonized over the unholy flack they'd catch, too, the loss of childhood, the spotlight, the snide comments from liberals which pass for humor among them, and decided that, combined with no small amount of personal risk--which translates to risk to her children as well, that America will have to find the salvation it seeks at the hand of another.

One of those others has experience in getting people of diverse backgrounds to pull together to rebuild something which once worked but no longer does, who understands the subtle politics of getting people who may not like each other to work as a team to bring about results, to do a little more, to embrace a different attitude, and rebuild something for their own good. He has done it twice, among a long list of other accomplishments, showing that he has the capability to understand problems and how to fix them rather than assign blame and use that as an excuse for nonperformance, and to get people motivated to get the job done.

The other is a politician who has made some right moves, and some I consider wrong.

And then there is the perennial Mittster, whose picture belongs next to RINO in the dictionary.

Now, that's what I see at the moment, but there is a fresher face in the game who will meet with less knee-jerk opposition than Sarah, who has experience getting people to restore their environs to their former functionality, and whose business experience alone may well be the key to turning around the mess in DC, while inspiring Americans to do that for themselves.

America is having one of those moments when Americans need to pull themselves and their country up by their bootstraps. Who better to lead than someone who has done that?

I will continue to respect and admire Sarah Palin. Has she not inspired tremendous things in America? In Americans?

Now, it is time for America to do what we have done best in our history--roll up our sleeves and get to work--and the first task is to get the current criminal enterprise out of our government.

Right now Rick Perry is in the arena.

Writing out big IOU's for big-money pay-for-play donors.

Without that possibility, she is not much different than someone like Condi Rice--at one time very relevant for America, and for now much less so.

ROTFLMAO!

America can never reach to deserve Gov Palin - it lost it’s chance.

I have been saying that for a long time...America (what's left of it) doesn't deserve Sarah Palin. If she goes back to Alaska to live her life while the lower 48 burns; I wouldn't blame her.

Until she returns to save the country I think a remake needs to be done of the film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, with Sarah in the role of Billy Shears.

I am saying that Palin’s supporters who were counting on her running did not lend their support to other candidates. If you don’t agree with that, then the media was right that Palin lacked a large group of support.

That’s ridiculous, because is Romney responsible for the media’s attacks on George W. Bush, Herman Cain, or Michele Bachmann? Around 36 lawyers went to Alaska during the 2008 campaign, and they weren’t connected to Romney.

I answered how she hurt the other candidates in other posts in the thread. I believe that Palin milked this to the end. Everyone at the speech in Iowa was asking her, “Are you going to run?”

“...so you believe Governor Palin is a liar?”

She took advantage of her suppporters, and milked this until the end. You don’t decide in a week if you are or aren’t running for president.

That's nice, but you didn't answer the question. I didn't think you would.

Let's see...

Romneycare...

same sex "marriage"

Antigun state

pro-choice...

Any of those would put him on the left around here.

No offense, but you're not making much sense here. One simply doesn't follow the other.

You’re being dishonest. You are having it both ways. You want to say Palin had a lot of supporters, but on the other hand you are saying she didn’t hurt the other candidates by waiting until the end to announce.
