Help. I use Hotmail for my email and cannot get into my email box. Is this happening to anyone else?
I keep getting the message regarding "Certificate Error." I have gone to the Tools window, and Advanced tab, and changed all back to the default settings. I have restarted my computer. I still cannot get to my email and still get the certificate error message. This happens when I use either Internet Explorer, or Firefox. Any suggestions? Ugh!
I saw your thread and tried my hotmail. Mine is working fine, got in no problem.
Worth a try:
If you encounter a certificate errors at a website you have visited before without errors, it’s possible the website is not configured correctly. Try retyping the address you are using. For example, if you are typing the address as https://example.com, try changing it to https://www.example.com.
What addons do you have? Did you block something with adblock or noscript? I find if I adblock *everything* that I think is an ad, sometimes the page will hang or a link wont work until I fiddle with the adblock settings.
Also check your computers date.
I have had that situation occur - cannot verify certificate) and sure enough my date had gone wack.
There's your problem right there.
But seriesly, my sister-in-law reported having the same problem the other day. I'd recommend switching to Yahoo mail or Google mail.
If your date changed unexpectedly good possibility your battery is going dead on your motherboard. Should change it!

Yeah, it can happen from a bad on board battery or other things as well. It’s getting late at night here - I am curious if it is the problem or not - I thought the OP would be back with an answer by now, but can’t wait much longer to find out!
OK, great!. Glad I could help.Change the battery - that’s the number one reason.
OOPS That was in September.
Also might not be a bad idea to make sure no one is intercepting your internet communications. Though unlikely, that circumstance will create such an error.
