Javel Townsend said his two sons, ages 10 and 11, are crying and hollering in their sleep, calling out their beloved puppys name.
Thats because the Townsend family is grieving the loss of Altgeld, their shepherd/hound mix puppy. Townsend alleges a Round Lake Beach police officer shot and killed the dog earlier this week.
I guess police got fed up with him barking and shot him, Townsend said Thursday. I want to know why they had to shoot him.
Townsend moved into the 1600 block of Lotus Drive about a week before school started. As a new tenant, he was unaware of a hole in the fence enclosing his yard until Altgeld escaped Tuesday.
He heard gun shots around the time he realized Altgeld was missing. He has a second, older dog that did not escape the yard.

Walk around my block, cocheese.
Some cooks have their own show. Don't make them right.
In point of fact, on the cooking, I'm techncially qualified by the USAF and USN Joint School, and a private culinary school, to declare them full of sh----tuff.
So I'll stick to my rules on big dogs. And in my kitchens. And you can peddle your cable TV stuff somewhere else.

Well, hell, I wouldn't have to shut my own dog up, now would I? He'll lay there, obedient and kind until someone threatens me or mine.
And then he'll go for a throat, and he'll be dead.
And then I'll do my part.
What part of this is hard to understand?
/johnny
I have a hound and am well aware of baying. They also bark fool.
Sorry about the fool part. My hound does not bother the neighbors.
I know lots of people with hounds and they don’t bother the neighbors.
But even in town, a good dog won't be a problem.
And if he is, well, not so much any more.

The owners should be held responsible for not taking care of their dog but it shouldn’t have to get to the point where the police had to kill it.
“Townsend was issued tickets for the dog not having shots, for owning a dangerous dog and for the dog being at large. He is due in court Nov. 1 and is in discussions with an attorney.”
“I am sick of these cops killing pets.”
That’s unfortunately what happens when owners won’t give their dogs rabies shots and let them loose.
The fact that you might be incapable of simple acts is hard for me to understand, but we have all our own individual limitations in life.
I don't pretend that watching a TV show makes me an expert.
Your dog won't hunt.

But you do pretend to be technically qualified to do anything.
Call bullshit and prove I can't.
I don't waste time in front of a TV. That's a sure and certain thing.

I was unaware the canines mentioned in the many articles posted here were loose or without necessary vaccinations.
“I was unaware the canines mentioned in the many articles posted here were loose or without necessary vaccinations.”
Apparently is the case here
Townsend was issued tickets for the dog not having shots, for owning a dangerous dog and for the dog being at large. He is due in court Nov. 1 and is in discussions with an attorney.
I guess we all live in the same block. I have a little dog on one side of me and all it does is yap and yap and, on the other side are two dogs and when they come out all they do is bark at my two German shepherds who have been taught to ignore both cases. Mine bark rarely, they are kept under controll.
You must live in my neighborhood, SatinDoll! Our one neighbor complained about our dogs barking. I said, “What?” I put them outside and they are back inside within a few minutes. To them... annoying barking was defined by any and all barking. Even one woof. There was an interesting phone conversation between the woman and me when she demanded that the dogs be muzzled at all times. I said I would muzzle my dogs when she muzzled her devil spawn. The conversation went downhill after that....
Step 1: Shoot the dog.
Step 2: Investigate the incident.
My dog don’t bark.
I don’t pretend that watching a TV show makes me an expert.
Your dog won’t hunt.
Hilarious. But you do pretend that you have useful commentary on an anonymous Internet forum.
