Some Initial Palin Thoughts
10/6/2011 | vanity

Posted on 10/06/2011 5:18:21 PM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

I have more to say, but for now:

I do not believe this (her ultimate decision) was something she went back and forth over constantly in the past few months or years. I believe that not only did she leave the governorship of Alaska with 2012 and the US presidency in mind--but she left McCain's concession stage the night Barack Obama was elected in '08, with 2012 and the US Presidency in her sights.

I believe there was careful strategy behind the timing of her book releases, their content, and the way they were written and the way they ended. There was *political* strategy behind choosing to go on Oprah to do her first interview following her resignation--and to meet with Barbara Walters shortly thereafter. I do not believe she chose to go on Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno's return to The Tonight Show episode just because she "loves" being a celebrity. I believe all of it was political and part of her efforts to appear before the masses unfiltered and real. AKA: she was campaigning.

I believe there was strategic considerations about her personal political future behind her decision to become a Fox commentator and her efforts to revamp her media image. Same goes for her decision to invite cameras into her home for "Sarah Palin's Alaska" and I'm sure she even saw the hidden political benefit of having Bristol Palin win the minds and hearts of the public on "Dancing With the Stars."

I believe she changed her foreign policy advisors early this year in light of her presidential aspirations. I believe she went to Israel, India, and Haiti (Sudan was cancelled) and Korea (which she is scheduled to visit next week) with the US presidency in mind.

I believe her decision to release "The Undefeated" in Iowa and key voting states had electoral considerations in mind. I believe every SarahPAC YouTube video screamed "will be running soon, watch out." Her bus tour, her facebook notes touting her record, and her retweets which linked to her most key supporters and supporting organizations like Conservatives4Palin and TammyBruce were intended to encourage site viewers to see her in the context of a potential candidacy.

I believe all her speeches in Iowa and New Hampshire in early September were serving as very BLATANT precursors to her running: touting her experience fighting crony capitalism in Alaska, talking about "HER plan" for the country, etc...etc...

I believe that up until even two weeks ago: she had the fire in her belly. She is a fierce competitor with unlimited energy.

I believe she is confident in her ability to beat Barack Obama and run a fantastic, history-making campaign that breaks all expectations and conventions.

EVEN TINA FEY parodied Palin's "2012 aspirations" on one of her final appearances on SNL the end of the last election cycle. All of Palin's most vociferous haters and denyers, were deep down, expecting Sarah Palin to run...

Which is why, I believe:

Her decision to not run was a very carefully thought out--but last minute decision she's made over the past two weeks at the MOST. I know the lives and safety of her children were of utmost consideration and that there were several recent issues that must have initiated severe worry.

But ultimately, I believe there is more to it that she won't ever say. There is so much that we don't know--about the inner workings of the GOP, for example, that we simply are not a part of and will never see. But I do believe there were things that happened or that she has learned of in these past few DAYS that ultimately led to her final breaking point decision...Something dramatic and sudden, and something more political in nature--than having to do with family.

That's just my guess.

Ultimately, I believe this was simply GOD's way of telling America: at this point, you're not deserving or worthy of a godly leader. You blew it.

That's what my next post will be about.

I think it’s possible the National Enquirer had the goods back in September. Wouldn’t be the first time.

Fact is, it's Myth's turn and the GOP ruling-class will anoint him as the candidate.

And he will lose, big time.

You are 100%. Only she could bring the Populists out of the Obama camp and vote GOP. None of the others could, can or will. Surely not Mittens.

Leadership IS Sacrifice. Leadership IS Risk. Leaders DO that. We needed a LEADER. Hearing, none, seeing none. Will the last conservative out please get the lights...

I truly believe that some of these PDS’ers would stand by and watch the Rape of her entire Family and not lift a finger to stop it. Maybe one in 20 even stuck up for her at all under all the onslaught of vicious rumors, and accusations.

I think you are very wrong, her influence will be more than it was before.

We will contribute to Sarahpac to renew that influence, and have her donate to the conservative candidates that will put a whoop ass on the Rats next year.

I’ll give her the benefit of doubt on any drama in her life being the issue. I just think she did calculations and came up with the conclusion that this wasn’t going to work this time.

A very likely scenario. It’s going to take a long time to recover from the damage done by barry, and yes, GWB’s big government policies.

It’s not going to be pretty.

The ruthless have been embedded in our government for far too long. Access to a printing press is quite an incentive. What you suggest is not outside the realm of possibility.

I don’t believe it either, but I’m shocked and mystified about her decision, AFTER ALL THESE MONTHS OF KEEPING PEOPLE HANGING. I do suspect that it was her girls who wanted it all to end, not realizing that it can NEVER end for Sarah and them. The left is evil, period, but just like Israelis who favor negotiations with vicious people who want to kill them, the girls probably haven’t accepted the fact that the conflict is intractable. Bob

Sarah said it was a ‘family’ decision. So maybe her husband was NOT willing to spend the next year on the campaign trail. I will take Sarah at her word that her family comes first. LORD knows they have been ridiculed beyond common decency. NOT one in the jonstewart media ever said enough was enough. Look at the freaks on Fox, they are no better or different that the other alphabet liberal newsmakers. (Well, maybe a couple of exceptions on Fox.)

people who were dead wrong about Palin's intentions and are looking for ways to explain how they misjudged the situation so badly.

That simply isn't true for most of Palins supporters....it's just not....they need no explanation other than what Palin has given...and that settles the matter period...for now.

I think the question really is :

"Why do those who said and say now that Palin...(fill in the blanks)......CONTINUE to oppose her and her supporters even after she has said she is not running?"

.....What is it about Palin which keeps people 'engaged' despite themselves?... It's all over these threads as evidence.....

What is it that she can fill the minds of people so that even her opposition cannot let go now...??????

It is an easy thing to understand the disappointment expressed by her supporters here, and quite natural it be so. What is difficult to understand is the hearts and minds of those who insist STILL to rake Palin and her supporters over the coals?????

There is something quite sinister about this...seemingly like those we see in these protests....their purpose scrambled, their intentions mixed...and their "agenda" hardly known even to themselves....but apparent to the discerning.

The righteous will always have the last laugh and the final victory--in ways we don't always see beforehand.

Now that is worthy of pondering as many, myself included, lift our heads up from this great disappoinment.

Gods not finished with this country...He's been shaking it now for several years and many still aren't listening..... All this shaking causes cancerns for all,.... but one thing I do know,.... no matter the outcome of any of these candidates He says HE IS THE ONE who raises up leaders and brings down others..... It's His call when all is said and done.... and He will create the environment He chooses to bring about not only who will sit in the office of Pres. but exactly in accordance to His plan for this nation and the world.

I sometimes think He is allowing us to become weaker, while He allows the nations to move and position themselves, because He knows this Nation would step in for all the right reasons.... and the only way to keep us from interfering, as things develope, is to weaken us for a time...as the World Stage is being set...thus we got Obama the weakest most absurd individual to ever hold this office.

I agree with Palin's decision....we are going to see her continue to remind this nation of what we all allowed to slip thru our fingers...and no Government will muzzle or constrain her freedom to do that in the capacity she serves this nation now...and will in the days ahead.
