Anarchists were a huge problem in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and of course one of them started WWI. They assassinated a US president and carried out assassinations all over the world; many Spanish politicians were assassinated by the anarchists, and this is probably one of the things that ultimately led to the Spanish Civil War.
The US has always been able to stand up to the anarchists, but that was because the US had the will and the leadership to do so.
These twits camping out in the park are dumb and pretty harmless - but they’re not non-violent. They’re harmless only because most of them are physically soft, depend on Mommy and Daddy for their living, and have never had to make a real effort in their lives. They’d be violent if they thought they could get away with it and it wouldn’t cost them anything.
Now that Obama has come out and supported them (in his press conference today), they may feel they can get away with it. Still, most of them won’t do much of anything...but all it takes is one, especially if that person links up with Islamists, which is not at all unlikely.
