Florida Republican Leader Paul Senft Endorses Governor Perry for President
Rick Perry for President Website ^ | Oct. 3, 2011 | Staff

Posted on 10/03/2011 9:27:48 PM PDT by casinva

Texas Gov. Rick Perry today received the personal endorsement of Florida National Committeeman Paul Senft in his campaign for president.

“I’m proud to endorse Gov. Perry for president – he has been leading Texas to more job creation, while President Obama has failed to lead on anything,” said Senft. “Gov. Perry’s proven record of job creation is the best of any candidate in the field, and as a man of faith he is the strong, principled leader this party and our nation need. He will be an excellent Commander-in-Chief and respect the 10th Amendment to make Washington less intrusive in state government and less consequential in our daily lives so that our country can thrive and prosper as we rebuild our global pride and respect.”

Paul Senft is a long time GOP activist from Haines City in Polk County and has served as Florida’s National Committeeman since 2004. He is also an RNC Executive Committee Member, and previously served as the State Committeeman and Chairman for the Polk County Republican Executive Committee.

“Paul Senft has been a powerful force in advancing the values and priorities of the Republican Party in Florida, and I am honored to have his endorsement,” said Gov. Rick Perry. “I look forward to his partnership in this campaign as I travel the nation sharing my vision to restore our economy and get America working again.”

And you should be thankful Governor Perry has been making it a priority to make sanctuary cities illegal so they can’t steal jobs and hurt people’s lives!

Gov. Perry Adds Sanctuary Cities to Special Session Call
Also adds Secure Communities and issuance of Texas driver license
Tuesday, June 07, 2011

Gov. Rick Perry announced the addition of legislation relating to the abolishment of sanctuary cities, the use of the federal Secure Communities program by law enforcement agencies, and the issuance of driver’s licenses and personal identification certificates to the special session call.

“Texas owes it to the brave law enforcement officials, who put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and communities, to give them the discretion they need to adequately do their jobs,” Gov. Perry said. “Abolishing sanctuary cities in Texas, using the federal Secure Communities program and ensuring that only individuals who are here legally can obtain a valid Texas driver’s license sends a clear message that Texas will not turn a blind eye to those breaking our laws.”

Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on House Passage of House Bill 12
Tuesday, May 10, 2011

“I applaud members of the House for passing legislation that will ban sanctuary cities in Texas and commend Rep. Burt Solomons’ leadership on this issue, which will strengthen the discretion our law enforcement officers need to effectively protect Texans. I hope the Senate will take quick action on this important legislation.”

Statement by Gov. Rick Perry Regarding Sanctuary City Legislation
Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Gov. Rick Perry today released the following statement regarding sanctuary city legislation:

“As the special session appears to be winding down, I am disappointed the Legislature did not address sanctuary cities. Working with legislative leaders last weekend, we worked to include sanctuary city legislation in Senate Bill 1. Unfortunately, SB1 Conference Committee Chairman Robert Duncan ultimately refused to allow language related to the ban of sanctuary cities into the final version of Senate Bill 1. Because of this action, the special session will not provide our peace officers with the discretion they need to adequately keep Texans safe from those that would do them harm.”

Governor Rick Perry Implements Texas Radio Communications Interoperability Plan - for Enhanced Protection at Border Locations (2005 - 2006)

Gov. Perry Praises Progress of Statewide Radio Communications Capabilities (2007)

http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/2258/

(Excerpt)

Gov. Rick Perry today praised the progress of the state’s radio communications capabilities. At the governor’s direction, local officials have worked with the state’s 24 regional councils of government to help Texas reach a key milestone in radio communications interoperability. Perry also reiterated his support for HB 13 and Rep. David Swinford’s effort to dedicate $100 million to Texas border security efforts.

One of the key recommendations of the 9/11 Commission is to ensure that when disaster strikes, first responders are able to communicate. A network of interoperable radio systems is a vital component to a swift, coordinated disaster response strategy. Two years ago, Perry set forth an ambitious priority objective to achieve level four radio interoperability throughout Texas by January 2007.

“Radio interoperability in Texas is particularly challenging because of its size and geographic diversity,”Perry said. “As a result of local leadership, I am proud to report to you today that Texas has achieved level four radio interoperability throughout the state, and in some areas, it is as high as level six.”

Level four radio interoperability allows fire fighters, emergency medical responders, police officers, deputy sheriffs and state troopers to go anywhere in the state and have immediate radio communications with each other using their own equipment on established channels.

“The importance of achieving this goal was demonstrated last year when first responders from around the state battled devastating wildfires and floods, and for the first time, were able to communicate with one another using their own radios to coordinate their efforts,”Perry said.

Perry also reiterated his support for HB 13 by Rep. Swinford which will increase border security funding by $100 million. Texas has launched several major border security operations, beginning with Operation Linebacker in 2005, Operation Rio Grande in 2006, and most recently and still ongoing, Operation Wrangler

May God be with Rick Perry as he continues his work towards protecting us even though the federal government has not.

Have you lost a friend or relative to an illegal alien in the land of Oz of Texas? You have two FReepers who've witnessed death and destruction of illegals.

Your Governor is against building a fence. I worked for my local Congresswoman. In general she'd be considered a RINO, however on Illegals she is far more conservative than your Governor. She traveled to Israel to meet with Israeli officials regarding the fence to prevent terrorists from blowing up daycares and discos. And it worked! Your Governor doesn't want a wall, he wants votes from illegals...

And once again which you completely ignore, why did Rick Perry meet with La Raza (THE Race) the equivalent of the Hispanic KKK. If any of the GOP Candidates met with David Duke they'd be toast.

I don't hate Perry, or Texas. I hate that illegals are coming here not to work but to rape, pillage, murder, and terrorize actual American born citizens!!! And the answer is NO they don't deserve a free college education, I was born and raised in IL and went to an IL school and didn't get a break because of skin color, and you think giving someone who has brown skin pigment a break is fair?

That is pandering 101....

A comment like that should be met with derisive laughter. Extremely derisive laughter. Trusting La Raza Rick on the issue of illegals is like trusting Bubba Clinton with a roomful of chubby 20-year old co-eds and a box of cigars.

fieldmarshaldj, Why don’t you provide a presentation of facts on what your candidate has done for securing our border to keep illegal aliens out of our country and to protect our American citizens, as you can see this thread (if you read the entire thread) is absolutely FILLED with a record of what Governor Perry has done to keep illegals out of our country.

I am very much looking forward to seeing your candidate’s record of actions which he / she has done to protect the borders for our country, protecting us from illegal alien entrances.

Additionally, if your candidate has a homeland security plan as Rick Perry has a Texas-driven homeland security plan for the years 2010 to 2015, additionally posted earlier in this thread, please do post that as well.

Since you don’t like what Rick Perry has done, even after you have read ALL the actions and programs provided in this thread (not just to you but to everyone here which you have or have not read), then let’s see what your candidate has done, do give his actual record of actions, and let’s put them side by side.

If you need a little help, go back and read this entire thread, not just the one or two small posts YOU got, and you can get a feel for what I want you to provide.

So please do, give us:

1.) Your candidate’s name

2.) Your candidate’s political leadership role or position during their record of protecting us from illegal intrusions,

3.) Your candidate’s list of actions and political record, substantiated of course and verified with accurate and legitimate sources for us all to check, which indicate what your candidate has done for border security to keep illegals out of our country

and

4.) Detail how your candidate’s record of action makes a difference in curtailing illegal aliens into our country.

You might also want to add...

5.) Why you feel your candidate’s record on our home land’s security efforts is better (in your mind) than the work Governor Rick Perry of Texas has been doing. Make sure you are comparing your candidate’s record of action to Rick Perry’s LONG and extraordinary record of acts listed here! That should be interesting to see.

*****

I am SO looking forward to seeing your candidate’s record on keeping illegal aliens out of our country, and I am so looking forward to that, that I will even do a side by side comparison of your candidate’s record of action (once you get them to me) against all Rick Perry has been doing as referenced and verified all throughout this thread and in other places as well.

Make sure you are through. I know I’ll be!

Thanks for your interest. I look forward to your information.

Since this issue is so important to you, I’m sure you have some information somewhere. Please do provide it here for us.

Also, if any of your ping list wants to provide additional information about your candidate’s record on homeland security work for us, I’ll take that info too. The more information we have the better!

It will be a good discussion and will help us all to decide who is most experienced and best suited to be our party’s conservative nominee.

If you need help again on some things you can provide, please review my previous post with the list of 5 things I suggested. Do feel free to add MORE info if you want though too!

I look forward to hearing who your candidate is and to what your candidate has been doing for us.

I don’t want to change his mind.

I’ve asked him who his candidate is, and I want to see what he has to say about his candidate.

And he is perfectly welcome to let me know why he thinks his candidate is worthy of our support. I’ve asked him to do so, and I certainly do hope he tells us now.

You’ll get nowhere.

Of course, and no where is right where we ended up. But now a few others got to see where they go (nowhere), and that might just be that small little thing someone, just SOMEONE, out there needs to have seen when they say something on this message board someday and get hoodwinked.

It was worth every minute I took to have even a slight chance of helping some good person here feel better someday.

My “favorite” Perrybot angle is how they say it was “impossible” for Perry to be a Republican in 1988 (Phil Gramm got the guts to do 5 years before that!).

But suddenly in 1989 it was okay, that when Texas democrats officially became liberal. Puh-lease.

All these people have such a chip on their shoulder with regards to Texas. I think all of them and/or their parents and grandparents were conservatives but also democrats and they just can’t admit they were shortsighted and foolish to stick with the rat party for so long so they go hyper with the apologetics overestimating the number of conservative democrats and to the degree they were conservative. They were plenty in 1968. 20 YEARS LATER, they were a decided minority with liberal scum firmly in charge even in Texas. Oh they still talked conservative (they STILL talk conservative) but they were liberal. They say Gore was conservative then have nothing to say when Tennessean tells them otherwise or when I post the ACU numbers.

And some will just root for the Texas guy like he’s their damn football team. PERRY IS NOT TONY ROMO. How’s that for a tagline. DEAR TEXANS, PERRY IS NOT TONY ROMO, you ain’t gotta be for him.

I with the half of Texas freepers who wanted this guy out as Governor (unfortunately there were no viable options to replace him just people that were worse).

But what to we know, we’re just 3 Yankee ****oles from “Obama’s state”. We don’t “get Texas”. Did you get a load of that guy last week that called Fieldmarshaldj racist? DJ posted against illegal immigration and this guy was all like “we are proud of our Tex-Mex heritage in Texas”. Who the hell was talking about heritage? Those are rat talking points.
