I changed it today; saved myself $10 a month...I didn’t realize they basically UPGRADED everyone without even asking. Grrrr! So, THANKS!!

It’s to the point that I’ll wait for movies from the library. Hell, my Tax Dollars are paying for them anyway, and I don’t need to see a movie the second it comes out; if it’s THAT good, it’ll be available for years to come. :)

Netflix is now down by 600,001 LOL!

“Your Plan Change

Dear Diana,

As you requested, we’ve switched your account over to the 1 DVD out at-a-time (2 a month) plan at $4.99 plus tax. This change will be effective Saturday, October 15, 2011.

– Your friends at Netflix”

Sure. NOW they’re, ‘my friends,’ LOL! :)

Funny how that worked out. Our cost to use Netflix snail mail discs went down. We don't and never have used streaming -- service for one or the other costs less than for both.

The real downside for us is that Netflix had an amazing preference algorithm -- based on ratings their recommendations were 98% or better for us. That entire database was/will be thrown out with the changeover to the new name.

BACK ON TOPIC:

Our bank changed our account type (probably in response to Dodd[*] / Frank) but forgot to notify customers who had that type of account (lots, I heard) and forgot to let their own staff at the branches know the change was coming. The change slammed us with with $17/month fees on just one account. A friendly teller said "I don't blame you for leaving. I would leave too if I could." Now, there is a bank the sux.

It took a couple of months to make all the necessary changes to move to a small local savings bank. Most of that time was waiting to see if my one-month-long paycycle direct deposit had changed. No big deal...

[*] Don't forget Dodd is a chip off the old scumbag block; daddy Thomas Dodd gave us GCA '68.

You're welcome. I don't Netflix, but I was aware something crappy had been pulled on the consumer.
