Correct. But I doubt very much if she was undercharged by mistake, she’s kick up such a fuss.

Years ago the stores stopped putting price tags on items directly, relying on shelf tags that are harder to read and determine what tag goes with what product. People didn't like the tags at first, so stores promised refund or something if you weren't charged the tag price. It is harder to challenge a price unless you take the cashier to the tag and show them the shelf tag, and sometimes they still argue with you. More than once I have been charged a different price than the tag price.

One time I saw a big sign stating large eggs 99 cents over a stack of large eggs. I took a cell phone pix of the sign because that price was lower than the med eggs and I suspected it was wrong. Sure enough, I was charged 1.29 for my eggs, which I challenged by showing the cashier my picture. But you can't do that for 100 grocery items, can you?
