Answer this question honestly and you'll see why Palin's influence is gone. (Vanity)

Posted on 09/29/2011 1:04:44 PM PDT by Scythian

Let's suppose Cain wins the nomination. Do you think he's going to pal around with Palin on the campaign trail or pick her as VP?

The honest answer is "No". Cain would need independents and Palin has a lot of negatives, also, she's from Alaska, not a key state. The simple truth of the matter is Palin is no longer important as some think she is. And any candidate that latches on to her, or rather, let's Sarah latch on to them could quite possibly end up losing the independents. So, watch for the nominee to distance himself (whoever he might be) from Palin. The base would be with Cain, Palin could only drive potential voters away.

Again, if you think about this honestly, I think her time in the bright lights is coming to an end.

In full disclosure I was a big time Sarah fan, but no longer, Cain is my guy now and I'm not switching away from him.

Explain then:

Sarah Palin:“Herman Cain is the one up there who doesn’t look like he’s part of that permanent political class. He came from a working class family. He’s had to make it on his own all these years. We respect that. He has an automatic connection with the electorate. We can all relate to him. He knows the issues and problems we face every day and he’s determined to do something about it.”

Seems clear to me either she's running or Herman Cain is the only one of the present candidates that she thinks is worth an endorsement.

I said ‘Sarah has APPEARED indecisive’.

I did not say she has been indecisive - her time will be of her own choosing.

Palin endorsed McCain, then Perry.

She really knows how to “pick a winner.”

But here’s the deal, there are a lot of folks here on the FR that were with her, but are no longer because of her games. Even if she gets in now I’m not with her, the same with many others, when she’s turning off the base, trust me, it’s not a smart move.

I don't think she is indecisive, I think she has a plan.

An unconventional plan maybe, but a plan.

And yes, her supports like me are twisting in the wind waiting for her to pull the trigger.

But remember, we are still 13 months before we vote. That a very long time.

I think I will watch this (hornet) swarm safely from behind the window, it should be good!

do you really think folks are going to flock to Sarah, I think she would look small and wishy washy next to Cain

I agree. Sarah merely took on the crooked GOP Establishment and Big Oil on behalf of the state she was Governor of, and beat them both, while Cain, you know, turned around Godfather's Pizza.

Sarah was merely the Mayor of a city, the Governor of a state and ran for Vice President of the United States, while Cain has had a really great talk radio show in Georgia.

Plus the thing I like about Cain is that none of the Media, Leno, Letterman, SNL, Jon Stewart would ever brand him as "Pizza Man" or "President Pepperoni" or some such. We can count on THAT image never taking hold in the Sheeple's minds. And that's reassuring.

Yeah, because she had soooo little influence in the 2010 elections nobody would want that albatross around their neck. /s

Of all the contenders who will you follow into battle?

We need leaders with smarts, not an experiment.

Newt/Cain

So why would Palin pick someone who so many here thinks is a ‘losser’ for her VP?

Personally I just don’t think she wants to run and I see it as the only explanation for the ‘shackled’ thing. She would I think take a nomination from a brokered convention, but there is little chance of that now days.

Let's suppose Cain wins the nomination.

Lots of water and a few bridges to go before that supposition can be made with any degree of accuracy. That said I hope Palin gets in the mix as I'd like to see her ability put to the test regarding winning the nomination.

Now if Cain is the nominee I don't expect he'll be on the stage very much with any of the other candidates. His attention will focus on selected areas and leaders from those areas not someone who he defeated on the campaign trail. You go after the locals and use them to bring their constituents on board.

Nevermind Newt being a non-starter, you can’t have that ticket because both are residents of Georgia.

It certainly appears that she can’t decide. The Greta interview the other night was worse than ever, with the discourse on needing to decide whether a title would give her more or less power to make change or whether it would simply be “shackly/shackling.”

Answer this question:

Who says she has influence and who gave it to her? I didn't, did you?

Christie, on the other hand, is not dicking with the American People...

If you didn't catch O'Reily last night Dick Morris provided some good analysis. First 3 minutes of the vid.

Like Morris I'm thinking for someone who's not running he sure likes going around the country telling everyone he's not running.

Oh but Sarah is gonna endorse Perry - oh no longer true.

Oh but Sarah is gonna endorse Bachmann - uhhh, nope.

Oh but Sarah is gonna endorse Romney - hahahahaha

Oh but Sarah is gonna endorse Trump - yada yada yada

Now the latest and greatest from the “smart” people...

Oh but Sarah is gonna endorse Cain. - more bull flatulence

All you prognosticators are a load of crap. Who else are you gonna guess that she is gonna endorse or not running or she’s a king maker or some other garbage. Ya’ll gesticulations are getting real old and worn out.

I wonder about that too.

In 2008 Primaries, most FReepers were convinced Fred Thompson would blow away the competition if he threw his hat in the ring. His entrance hardly caused a ripple. I’m afraid Palin could be a similar story. I hope not, but many FReepers seem to think the rest of the nation thinks like we do.
