I have the same dilemma, kinda....
I needed some work done in my kitchen.
I called a local contractor from the local paper.
We talked and he gave me an estimate and then I saw him pull out of the driveway with 2 bumper stickers.
One said “Obama Biden 2012”, the other said “Palin, Bachman both no brainers.”
Now when he calls and says when do I start I need a good comeback and I know the best are here on Freerepublic.Any suggestions?

Your approach is the correct one. Are we capitalists or are we not?

Tell Him:
Due to the Obama Depression, I can no longer afford to hire contractors to do work in my home. I have decided to do the job myself...sorry.

Political stickers on a business truck is a “no gainer”!
While money exists, commies don't get mine.
Bye Bye to Obama/Biden and their no brainers.

Yes and ask for an endorsement!

Just charge them more and say it is a progressive pricing policy to help those who may not have the means to pay as much as them because they won life’s lottery.

Apparently there’s a number of freepers that think it’s ok to rip people off just because they have different political beliefs.

I thought political stickers on a business truck were tacky but I didn’t see his truck until he left.

This is America, you sell to whomever wants to buy. Not doing so would be like posting “No Jews” or “No Irish” signs, it’s wrong and it’s unamerican, period.

This is a bit different is a sense that he is taking YOUR $$.
What I would do..
I would politely say, “I have decided to hire someone else based on the fact that after seeing your bumper stickers, if you run your business like the ones you voted for then my work will a) never get done and b) my grandchildren will still be paying for it 60 years from now”.

Depends on the product, but for most of them, Kipling would say:
“Take his money, my son, praising Allah. The kid was ordained to be sold.”

He hasn't proven himself that he is not an idiot. Why would you hire an idiot to work on your home?

You bet - including a “just received” price increase and then smile as you deposit their money in the bank.

Take the business.
And while I’m not a scotch drinker; what’s wrong with Johnny Waker?
