Eric B & Rakim? What’s next Tiffany and Los Tigres del Norte? The R&R Hall has gotten to be a joke that just about anyone can buy their way into, no matter how distantly related to actual Rock n Roll they might be.
I’d vote for the The Small Faces/The Faces and Freddie King this group.
Heart? Ack....
I love The Spinners, but I wouldn’t exactly call them Rock N’ Roll.
The Spinners—yes. The rest? Evidence that rock is indeed dead. Nyro, maybe, but not as a rocker.
The rest of these folks are at best journeyman/woman groups. The idea of winning induction to this ridiculous “Hall of Fame” giving one cred shows how silly the whole idea is. Rock is supposed to be the music that laughs at museums and official labeling.

the spinners, donna summer, war.....yet no Moody Blues- another joke full of nominees...
Glad to see Guns N’ Roses make it! It’s a shame they didn’t have more longevity than they did. Damn stupid Axl Rose!
To this day, why is RUSH, KISS and Yes snubbed ? Oh, I forgot, why is Deep Purple excluded as well ! And yet, Michael Jackson and Madonna are in !
Music from RUSH is considered timeless and ahead of its time. Deep Purple is another one that had some great music but yet, ignored !
I’m a Eric Clapner kind of guy myself.
The Cure
Knowin’ yer such a fanboy...
The Cure, Laura Nyro, War and Heart should be in....everybody else....no.
No Ted Nugent? I’m shocked /s
This is a liberal scam to get people to visit Cleveland. Rock and roll lives on through the radio and in my CD collection which gets purged of lib rockers. List of good ones keeps shrinking.
GRAND FUNK RAILROAD....why would Donna Summer ever be considered before them? “scratches head”......
Imho, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a farce. Many, if not most of the nominees have produced “music” that has no resemblance to rock & roll.
Random thoughts:
-Eric B. and Rakim? I’ll be the first to say they were very talented and pioneers of the rap genre. But in no way, shape, or form were they ever rock.
-Still no honors for Rush, Deep Purple, or Warren Zevon (the Excitable Boy album alone is enough for a nod, in my book)? PFEH!
-I’m bothered less by the inclusion of R&B greats than rappers, simply because so much of rock’s history can be traced back to blues and soul. I’d say ditto with certain forms of country/western. Elvis and guys like Conway Twitty straddled both genres at times, for example.
-Even though I was never a big fan of Heart or Joan Jett, I do appreciate that they broke a lot of ground for women who wanted to play hard rock.
-I wouldn’t cross the street to hear the Red Hot Chili Peppers play, but I can’t deny their popularity or longevity as an act.
And STILL no Robin Trower. What a joke.
