This is an interesting bit of news on the E-cat (for anyone not familiar with it, it's an invention that, if not a scam, I would modestly describe as the greatest single invention in history.)
Yes, Josephson is a bit of a flake, his Nobel prize notwithstanding. But the news that he will have extended access to test an E-cat is significant. If this bit of news is not refuted/withdrawn, then either Josephson will be satisfied with the Oct. 6 testing or now. If he says he is, then the Naysayers will have to include him in their list of insider accomplices to fraud. If he's not, then the whole thing starts to unravel.
Looks like the run-up to the big public 1 MW demonstration later in October will not be so dull and quiet as I thought it might.

Sigh... I meant to say ‘Oct. 6 testing or NOT’ not ‘now’. My apologies.

This is one of those things that I really hope is true. If it is, there's a new dawn coming...

I’m a hopeful skeptic I guess. What’s flaky about Josephson?

If the durn thing is a hoax, it must by now qualify as history’s most elaborate and least logically motivated.

The measurement of energy will not therefore be made on the steam, to avoid all the issues concerning the quality of the steam, but the measurements of energy will be made on the delta T of the water of the secondary circuit heated by the steam! This way, the amount of energy produced will be calculated in an undisputable way.
*** I thought there had already been at least one experiment which did not involve a phase change.

On October 6th we will have the opportunity to make a long (more then 12 hours) of testing one of the modules of the RC 1 MW generator. The module will be Opened to us and we will have the opportunity to verify weights and volumes of the internal components. Heat measurements will be done at condensing the steam produced in heat exchanger and a secondary circuit where no water will be vaporized. This is NOT an official test of the University of Bologna Because the contract is not active yet. There should be more concern about accounting for all inputs, rather than the boiled water at the output.

I find it interesting that Rossi always seems to me mainly preoccupied with “convincing” the “doubters”. If I had something that was half as good as what he claims to have, I’d just make the damned things and sell them. Failing that I’d make them, keep them and sell the electricity. If he truly has a better mousetrap, just get to work catching mice and enough already with all the demos, arguments about steam, etc. etc.
