Tell Republicans in Congress to Support the American Jobs Act

The American Jobs Act is based on bipartisan proposals that everyone ought to be in favor of.

But it won't pass unless Republicans in Congress agree to act—and that's where you come in. If you have a Republican Senator or Representative, call them and ask them to pass the American Jobs Act.

You can call the Congressional switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to speak to your representative.

Once you're done, take a moment to let us know how it went.

Sample Script:

Hello, my name is __________ and I'm a voter calling from __________ (your city or town).

I'm a voter who supports the American Jobs Act, and I'm asking my representative to back it, too.

Will you support the American Jobs Act?

(Allow them to respond)

Any member of Congress who backs these policies to get Americans back to work will have my thanks.

This is an email I received (I signed up to the democrap website)

Friend --

Today, President Obama stood on the Brent Spence Bridge that connects Ohio to Kentucky and spoke about how the American Jobs Act could help rebuild that bridge and thousands like it, and put construction workers and manufacturers back to work.

It has been exactly two weeks since President Obama proposed the American Jobs Act -- a fully paid-for plan made up of ideas that both parties have endorsed in the past and ought to be able to get behind now. A wide majority of Americans who have heard about the Jobs Act want to see it passed right away.

But Congress has yet to take any action on it whatsoever.

There's no excuse for any more delays. The President is out there bringing this plan straight to the American people. It's on us to help put the pressure on Congress.

House Speaker John Boehner -- who will be leading the Republicans in negotiations -- needs to hear what Americans like you think.

Call Speaker Boehner's office now at (202) 225-0600 -- tell him not to let politics get in the way of creating jobs, and ask him to help make sure Congress passes the American Jobs Act.

and it gives a link to the above website

Shouldn’t they be giving out Harry Reid’s phone number?

Must have missed something, the headline implies it’s Boehner’s phone number and that there’s something wrong with that, but your post indicates Boehner’s Congressional Office number. What’s the problem?

I don’t know. As long as they provide Speaker Boehners’ office phone number, not his private number (which I would not be surprised if they actually have it), I don’t see anything strange or unethical about it. We can provide 0bama White House’s phone number in Free Republic, and I doubt anyone would make it a big deal.

I dont know- it just seems odd for he President to be doing this

As private citizens we can do this all day long

If Rush Limbaugh did it the libtards would be having a coniption-fit

Rush did it ONCE to shut up all those libtards who used to say that he always gave out phone numbers- and the congressional office phone lines melted down. They have not made that charge against him again

Call Speaker Boehner's office now at (202) 225-0600 -- tell him not to bow to the white house resident's whims. Demand a balanced funded budget without raising taxes.

Tell Republicans in Congress to Support the American Jobs Act

I thought the House already passed Rep Gohmert's bill.
