Wow. I didn’t know she was still alive. God Bless them.
Wow...71 years in the same home...RIP...I pray we see more like them again...soon..
I had the pleasure of meeting her for lunch at her home in Palm Springs in 1996. What a gracious lady!
May God bless you, Dolores!
Bob Hope is one of my favorite comedians and greatly undervalued as one of America’s top entertainers, due largely to a movie career that faded during the late 60s and a truly wretched series of TV specials in his later years.
But when he was young and brash in the 30s and 40s and even into the 50s, there were few that could top his comic talent. His radio shows are still highly entertaining and his movies are some of America’s greatest comic films.
He depended on writers, but he chose wisely and his skills at physical comedy and dancing were first rate. His comic persona was every bit as developed as Chaplin or Keaton. He was the quintessential American entertainer — who just happened to be born in England.
For all that, his personal life was...um...well, let’s just say that Dolores must have been a very forgiving person to have stayed with him all these years.
I met them both while I was in the Army in 1988. He came to Korea for a show just before the olympics. They were an amazing couple that had the time of their life where ever they went. It was my personal pleasure to be their escort during their trip to the DMZ.
oh wow, prayers for both of them. reunited.
RIP Dolores and say hello to Bob for us....:)
an icon of my youth ..Godspeed his dear wife
