I had the pleasure of meeting her for lunch at her home in Palm Springs in 1996. What a gracious lady!
May God bless you, Dolores!
In 1984 Bob Hope’s Jet flew into Monroe, Louisiana with Mr. Hope for a performance in Ruston. They used the FBO where I worked.
Mr. Hope had left for his performance and the pilots were having a drink of very expensive scotch from fine crystal glasses. I asked them what Mr. Hope was really like. Their answer was that the man you see on the stage is the real deal and they could not say enough good things about him. The Pilot in Command was sitting on the stairway of the Jet, I think it was an HS-125, and said, “and Mr. Hope knows we are drinking his scotch.”
My fiancee’, his dad and uncle worked on the Hope’s home many times. Bob Hope was always friendly but very busy. Mrs. Hope was always very gracious and concerned about bringing them lunch and beverages. They all thought the world of her and Mr. Hope.
