The Pac-12 appears to be working out the final details of a deal that would bring Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech to the conference, sources close to the situation told Hookem.com and the American-Statesman on Sunday morning.

The PAC-12 presidents place considerable weight on academic reputation, which is why they are careful about who to accept in the conference. The Big-12 schools mentioned meet those standards.
And they do all of that under a not-for-profit status tax status. I don't mind one iota that taxpayers are subsidizing universities but building athletic empires is not part of the university's basic mission. If someone wants to write a check to these greedy bastards to build another athletic shrine so the hacky-sack players can have a new studyhall, fine write it, but just don't expect the rest of us to subsidize it as tax deductible donation.
