He could be horribly deformed from a tragic buggy accident, but I think you're right.
I noticed that the face was askew on an earlier thread. But for those of you that don’t know this yet...this comes from a collection that houses photos taken of the dead. It seems this was very popular back then.
It is possible this guy was dead.
