When Will The Media Cover Thad McCotter's SAVE SOCIAL SECURITY ACT?
Mainstream Media Rant ^ | 9/15//11 | cumbo78

Suppose a Republican Presidential Candidate introduces legislation to REFORM SOCIAL SECURITY and the media didn't cover it.

TOPICS: Business/Economy
KEYWORDS: mccotter; socialsecurity
And its not just the liberal "Mainstream Media" that is ignoring this legislation (that was scored by the SSI actuary, who said it would work). Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, all ranting and raving along with the candidates, about what to call Social Security, someone does something about it and no one pays attention. What gives?

Is he running for President? Who knew? Perhaps he needs to participate in the debates. The more the better.

Card Check killed any slim chance McCotter might have had to be a player this election cycle. Maybe in 2016 or 2020 people will have forgotten he voted with the union thugs and tried to take away Americans right to a secret ballot in union elections. His vote for Card Check is just a deal breaker, especially considering the battles we are currently fighting against corrupt public sector unions in state after state after state.

There's more sadly. Thad "Card Check" McCotter also co-sponsored the Democrats $165 billion Union Pension Bailout fiasco. Fortunately, this appears to have died on the vine in 2010, but ole' Thaddeus was championing it.

Thad has shown time and again he is a union tool. Sure, he might have some good ideas now and again, but this guy is never going to get any traction outside of a small niche of mostly rust belt protectionist Republicans.

Thanks for the links. The longshore union goons are particularly despicable. And to think McCotter’s support for Card Check could have created more of this crap. Pathetic.

Cartoon Character? With the cast of talking heads running for the Republican nomination, you’re going to call Thad McCotter a cartoon character? Thad McCotter is the candidate who can best articulate the Conservative message, IS the smartest man in the room, and had submitted legislation that saves and improves Social Security. Regardless of what you “one noters” think, McCotter’s plan should be analyzed in depth by the media. Have you seen any other candidate submit a plan? No!

Thank you kind sir. I have been posting and linking about this bill for 4 days and for 4 days, NO MAJOR MEDIA OUTLET OR TALK SHOW HOST HAS DISCUSSED IT. Here’s a link briefly describing the bill.

[ Have you seen any other candidate submit a plan? ]

Te plan is to reduce the federal government in toto..
Social Security is PURE socialism.. always was which was the plan..

Reducing the federal government of agencys will free up money for other socialism like SSA..

The SSA can be addressed after the federal government reduction “ACT”.. which needs to be created and passed.. FIRST..

SSA can be privatized as it should have been from the get go..
Eliminating the Energy, Agriculture and the Education Departments must happen first..

Before that... many of the hangers on to SSA must be eliminated..
The old people are merely a third(or so) of the people receiving SSA..
Most of the so-called disabled are not disabled.. AT ALL..

The people of this country have consistently proven that they do NOT want privatization and do NOT want to eliminate Social Security. Having a program that allows citizens to choose from a host of PERSONAL ACCOUNTS gives people more freedom and control of their investment. In addition, you can leave the contents of the account to your offspring, so for someone who prefers privatization, its the next best thing.

Socialism used to be a nasty concept to Americans..

So you think that changing the system to give people control and choice over their accounts is a bad idea? Even if while doing it you save Social Security from going under?

That’s a great idea....ON PAPER! If you think that the US populace is EVER going to give up Social Security, I think you’re sorely mistaken. McCotter’s plan is the next best thing. It gives individuals, freedom and choice and your money ACTUALLY goes into a LOCKED BOX with your name on it. When you die, you can even leave the remains of your account to your children or any designee. The yield will be higher than it is now, and the plan is the largest spending and debt reduction in world history. Do you think this is a bad thing?

True.. America MUST be educated out of socialism..
This political vampire must be killed by knowledge of what it is...

Capitalism creates wealth, socialism burns that wealth UP... like a fire..
