In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
beguile; verb
verb (used with object), -guiled, -guil·ing. 1. to influence by trickery, flattery, etc.; mislead; delude. 2. to take away from by cheating or deceiving (usually followed by of ): to be beguiled of money. 3. to charm or divert: a multitude of attractions to beguile the tourist. 4. to pass (time) pleasantly: beguiling the long afternoon with a good book.

(personally, I think that is a reprehensible situation, which has been corrected because of her, another mark on the plus side.)

You know as well as I do, that 99 percent of voters are not well enough informed to understand that.
FCOL, look at the kerfluffle over the use of the term Ponzi Scheme by Perry, when it has been fairly common parlance on BOTH sides of the aisle over the years.
Which brings me back to, “we are doomed, why do we bother at all”.
