Theres a memorial in Brooklyn that honors all the first responders that were killed on Sept. 11 called the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance. There are 417 faces of first responders that were lost that day. Back in 2006, they had completed about one-third of that memorial and they ran out of money.
A firefighter friend of mine took me out to see it and I offered to try and help them raise the additional money to complete the memorial. They liked that idea, so we put a concert together at Brooklyn College where my band, Lieutenant Dan Band, played, and we raised all the money to complete the memorial, and it was open and dedicated in May 2008.

He’s a class act.
“Hes a class act.”
Exceptional amongst any.
Near alone amongst industry peers.
One of the good guys.
When you look up class in the dictionary there is a picture of Gary Sinise, one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. He is as good a man as he is an actor.
bttt
Probably why he doesn’t get more good roles.
LOVE YOU GARY
Thanks nuconvert.
An exceptional individual and great actor. Gary is class.
One of the few Hollywood types who I am genuinely impressed by. As a retired Marine, I salute Mr. Sinise.
Love him...class act.
Gary Sinese couldn't have been nicer and more down-to-earth, and he spoke to my son and his friends for about 20 minutes. Any other Hollywood "star" probably couldn't have cared less.
He is the real deal.
Mr. Sinise, if you read Freerepublic, thanks for stepping up and being the class act that you are.
I’ve taught classes at the FDNY since 9/11 and the pain runs deep. Those guys are close and you added the exclamation point to the word “hero” that they earned on 9/11.
You let us when when you’re in a film, TV show, play or performing with your band and we’ll come out in droves to support you.
“Probably why he doesnt get more good roles.”
Life’s full of small parts,
for those with big hearts.
Whose best supporting roles,
give comfort to our souls.
The Lieutenant Dan Band was just here at Lejeune on the 3rd. I had to work, so I didn’t get to go. I was so sad.
Ok, my husband saw my post and informed me I was wrong. So, for anyone in the eastern North Carolina area who is an authorized patron, the Lieutenant Dan Band will actually be performing on Camp Lejeune on SEPTEMBER 17. I had spent the last week thinking I missed it.
“...I was wrong”
How many push-ups did that cost you?
