The Federal Communications Commission may have killed off the controversial Fairness Doctrine this week, but conservatives -- offering faint praise for the move -- are sounding the alarm over what they see as backdoor attempts by the Obama administration to regulate political speech on the airwaves.
They point to ownership diversity and "localism" as other ways Democrats can try to keep the spirit of the Fairness Doctrine alive and silence conservatives and Christian broadcasters.

We all know that the Left, since Bill and Hillary were President, want to silence talk radio, which dominates the AM airwaves.
Zero is trying hard to make it a reality.

Of course...”Localism” is the fairness doctrine in disguise. And the radio industry is already being influenced by the idea.
My local Rush station USED TO HAVE a syndicated conservative talk show host. They have replaced him with some local clown who talks about stuff no one cares about. BUT the Hussein cult is deep in South Florida, and even Rush stations are being “persuaded” to follow the Jack Booted Thugs new “suggestions”.
I will be so glad when these communists are out of work.

The left will do anything to silence the opposition. Look at Canada as an example.

You mean the Left is STILL trying to shut down free speech?
So...unexpected.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president. Prediction: this will backfire big time. Even the MSM will defend talk radio on this one.

Defeating Obama is not the endgame. That is just the starting point for fixing what is wrong with this country. It requires removing federal and state funding for the left such as Planned Parenthood, NPR, ACORN, La Raza etc

“Localism.”
Here we are. Beck called this at least 2 years ago.
That said, it is interesting to note that Fox was not included in a WH press briefing this past Friday, over F&F and the e-mails the WH received. “Fox will be briefed later” or some such is the reasoning. Sounds to me like “but you’ll have to vote for it to see what’s in it.”

So true. It was so obvious who and what he was and millions didn’t get it, ignoring the clear evidence. Intentional or otherwise there are a ton of people out there who are clueless.

Make no mistake, Zero and his minions will do their best to finally destroy this country in the next year.

Well, the obvious response to a “localism” requirement is to raise up a local version of Rush in every market. Of course, since there’s no way they’ll get an all-local-content requirement through, that would have the effect of most talk stations carrying three hours of Rush and three (or six, or ten) hours of his local analog.
