FOX reported earlier, I can’t remember which show, that a small plane that was flying without radio contact - I think it said - was spotted in the area. I haven’t heard anything else reported about it.
It wasn’t bad enough...
My nephew just got married in an outdoor wedding today in Maryland and the weather was beautiful. 5:00 wedding.
In the interim, Marine one was diverted, landed, and Obama transferred to motorcade to complete the trip.
Apparently, the white houses press department just made up a story about bad weather, and fed it to the press corp. I guess lying is just such a habit, it happens automatically now.
The weather was quite nice most of the day. Got a little cool and cloudy in the afternoon. Nothing that would affect a helicopter.
There probably was a security situation, and the small plane thing might initially seem likely. Oddly, though, I did not see or hear any of the fighter craft that come out of Langley AFB to take care of errant small planes in restricted airspace. Usually they come overhead at about 3 feet of altitude and I HEAR them. So the small plane thing, maybe yes, maybe no.
Oh the ‘weather’ version has ‘changed’ now.
Now it was something in the air space that was ‘intercepted’.
