Friends say Dan Dodds of Coupeville, WA, fought the big king salmon nearly 20 minutes, running up and down the beach at Keystone Spit and wading waist-deep into the water before finally landing the 28-pounder he called "the fish of my dreams."
Minutes later, Dodds, 62, suffered an apparent heart attack and fell face down in the water. Efforts by fellow anglers to perform CPR failed, and he was pronounced dead at Whidbey General Hospital. "If I have to go, Id like to go in that manner," said angler and friend Joe Biller. Whidbey News Times.
Wow... RIP, Buddy. So many of us should be so lucky.
Kudos to you. OMG...I read your post and almost fell over laughing. Thank you for that.
on a more serious note: RIP Fisher-man.
"Indian Larry" ping.
I have to say I would agree.....at my age, dying of a heart attack on a softball diamond would make me happy.
Of course dying in bed with a 24 year old nympho would leave a smile on my face too..........
LOL, you’re bad!!!!
“The one that haunts me is a big brown trout in the South Holston tailwaters (Virginia/Tennessee border). He followed my offering up to the drift boat, then swam away as I spotted him.
I almost had a heart attack when I saw his size.”
I was fishing in a small stream that feeds into the tailwaters below Lake Tenkiller for rainbows. I looked up and saw a monster striper working his way thru a school of trout and heading right for me. With just a fly rod and reel and four pound test line all I could do was stand there and think about my striper rig back home.
LOL, been there (in that position).
LOL, been there (in that position).
Yes it does Jaz. How are you doing? I’m in Indiana now looking out the window at one of the best small bass lakes I’ve ever fished.
A front is moving in early next week, and I hope to fish ahead of it.
All’s well here, girl. Sounds like you’re going to get into some great bass fishing, knock ‘em dead! ;-)
Bing Crosby collapsed on a golf course. Some guys are just blessed that way.
If you've got a boat, lake Erie is walleye heaven. Lake St. clair is fishing heaven and if you've ever thought about muskie fishing, LSC is becoming a musky fisherman's paradise. They're catching them in the neighborhood of 50 - 56" now and throwing them back to grow bigger..........
Here's a local site where you can keep track of what's going on on the lake.....
Sounds like he died happy.
Or, you could go the way Nelson Rockefeller went.
Thanks for the info.
BTW,curious about your tagline (LOL).
Been there done that
That was the slogan of a group of libtard women somewhere on the east coast who want to legalize women going topless. There was a thread about it here a week or so ago........
I thought I'd give them some support.......no pun intended...LOL!
Did he have a Federal saltwater permit?
Got it. Pretty funny. I bet that was a hilarious thread.
