Welcome to the club.

I never, ever in a million years ever thought I’d see most of the things I see going on everyday. :(

Obama promised “change” and it’s the only promise he’s kept. :(:(:(

That country still exists in the hearts and minds of all of the people in this forum — outside of Free Republic, not so much.

We must fight to take back our country. We must fight like there is no tomorrow, because if we give up now, there won’t be.

Try listening to country music from that time and compare it to now.

It makes me want to slit my wrists.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

What happened? Answer: In the mid-1800s to early 1900s “progressives” imposed government owned and run, socialist-funded, schools on our nation's children.

The first government schools offered up a generic and lukewarm Protestantism and children learned to be lukewarm and generic about their faith. Later schools were godlessly secular with a sprinkle of prayer in the morning. Children then learned to be godlessly secular in their thinking as long as there was a nod in God's direction. Today's schools are utterly and completely godless. Children MUST learn to think and reason godlessly if they are to cooperate with the classroom instruction.

Finally....Children who attend socialist schools learn to be comfortable with government taking money from a neighbor for a service their parents want for free. Well! Gee! If government can take money ( by threat of force) for free schools why not elect Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Johnson, Carter, and Clinton and get even MORE free stuff?

If you send children into godless and socialist schools we will reap godless and socialist adults. And...It seems that about 50% of our nation has now moved over to the dark side and a dangerous percentage are outright communists.

The new A Team movie from last year is awesome.

You're right. The huge majority of "country" singers today are nothing more than pop singers with cowboy hats. Not a single Johnny Cash or Merle Haggard type among them.

But don't slit your wrists just yet. After Carter came Reagan, and the country turned around. We may see a repeat of that in 2012.

I’ve been doing the same thing off and on since this guy became president. It sometimes feels like the only way to get you’re country back is to relive the past. It really sucks.
