And not for any PC reasons either. A Neanderthal man/Sapiens woman cross would likely have a very large head in comparison to a pure Sapiens baby. Chances of the child being delivered alive and mother and child living would be quite small.

A Neanderthal woman/Sapiens man cross would likely have a smaller head then a pure Neanderthal baby would be so the mother and child would have had a greater chance of living.
