Word For The Day, Tuesday, August 30, 2011
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
frigorific [frig-uh-rif-ik]
-adj
Causing or producing cold
[166070; < Latin frīgorificus cooling, equivalent to frīgor- (stem of frīgus ) cold + -i- -i- + -ficus -fic ]
It’s almost too frigorific to frack.
No, not really.
My brother has been in the fracking business since 1979 when he started with Halliburton as a petro engineer. It’s so funny to me that the word FRACK is suddenly in common parlance and all the rage!
Drill baby drill, and frack baby frack
scumbag Tiki Barber is marrying the ho-intern, for whom he left his pregnant wife. she’s 24 yo. he has no job that i can detect. NBC thankfully didn’t renew his contract and while he’s trying to get back in the NFL, he’s not working out with anyone so that doesn’t look too promising. Little hobag is taking a chance he’s going to come up $$$empty$$$.
Fat Albert defines friGORific,
His predictions, always so horrific.
He warns of extreme heat
While he brings snow & sleet,
With his dreadful speeches, soporific.
Sounds like something that Mike Meyers would have used in those god-awful James Bond parodies he did.
Are you very attached to Pominville? My hockey buddies want him to come to Nashville.
I, admittedly, got hooked last season......didn’t watch EVERY episode, but I did catch some.
Not too frigorific to mill the roads around my house today. I was sleeping fine through the noise, till they took their morning break and it got quiet.
This tends to have a frigoretic effect:

Frankly, it kind of contradicts itself.
I’d hate to see him go, but if the right deal came along I would live with it. ;)
Supposedly, he was on new-owner Terry Pegula’s “untouchable” list, but I’m not sure that really exists...
Frigorific ... Really?
Are you sure about that? 'Cause it sounds like a word Carrot-top or somebody might have made up.
On the other hand, those early Romans lived on and around those "seven hills of Rome", so an alternative theory presents itself.
They might have been rednecks.
Maybe the dog killer can loan him some money - his contract is something like $100 Million -
Maybe Vick is truly reformed? Maybe he isn’t.
I don’t know, I don’t have a dog in that fight.
Hey, I just wanted to use that “no dog in this fight” one liner.
I’m so sorry - I realized that AFTER I posted the reply. Very funny reply - I am so accustomed to men who are in love with Vick getting their panties in a wad when I complain about him! lol
I have no love for Vick, but it seems to me he has done his time, served his penalty. He should be allowed to ply his trade just like any other person in the same situation.
And he is - the NFL rehired him didn’t they? That does not mean I have to like the man - I wouldn’t want him around my children any more than I would want a “reformed” thief or a “reformed” child molester. I don’t believe doing time reforms anyone, it just means they got caught.
