Perry isn’t “my candidate” at this point. I like Bachmann and Palin (but I don’t think Sarah will run). I’m content to wait and see. But I’m also liking Perry more every time I hear him. Here are 10 reasons why (I origanally wrote this to someone in California, hence the CA comparisons).
Ten reasons why I like Rick Perry
10. In 2009, Gov. Rick Perry received the Defender of Jerusalem Award, given to public figures who have demonstrated support and commitment to the state of Israel and its capitol, Jerusalem. The governor accepted the award while on his trip to Israel, where he also met with Israeli President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and business and academic leaders.
9. Perry supports building the F22. He recently noted that when Obama canceled the program the rational was that China would not have similar capability (the J-20) until 2025, or 2020 at the earliest. Now it is set to be deployed in 2017,
8. Calls for a full and open audit of the Federal Reserve.
7. Signed loser pays law for lawsuits found frivolous by a judge.
6. Has enforced the death penalty more than any other governor in history. Texas has executed 50 poachers of human life in the last three years. When they give the death sentance in Texas, they mean it. California has over 700 death row inmates, and has exectuted zero in the last three years. A death sentance in CA means death by natural causes.
5. Helped Texas to become ranked the most business friendly state in the country (California is dead last).
4. Perry is a veteran Air Force pilot who gave five years of his life in the service of his country. He understands firsthand military culture and the sacrifices all members of the Armed Forces make in service to their country.
3. Perry is skeptical about the man-made global warming scam, which is being used by the warmists to call for the largest worldwide transfer of wealth in history, via UN carbon taxes on industrialized countries. He understands how devastating cap and trade would be for our economy.
2. Perry is a strong 2nd Amendment supporter, gun owner, and NRA member.
1. Half the jobs created recently in the entire USA were in Texas (see #5). Over the decade between April 2001 and April 2011, more than 730,000 private sector jobs were created in the Lone Star State. During that same stretch of time, the next-best state added just over 90,000 and the nation as a whole lost 2.2 million.
And Perry poked Obama in the eye on day one.
He dont take no shit from the punk.
He aint skeered, he dont care how big obamas machine is.
You forgot that with his state lawsuits against the federal government over Obamacare and the overreaching EPA, his actions prove his support of the 10th Amendment... and thus, state’s rights.
He’s actually done something besides talk on these. (which is more than most have done)
