HELP!
I just manage to obtain one of the HP Touchpads that they were dumping for a ridiculously low amount of money. I love it, but I am not a computer techie type so I am experiencing a major learning curve.
How do you get the Quickoffice program to let you do data entry like writing a letter, creating a report? I asked my techie son about downloading an office softword program, but he claims that all I need is Quickoffice.
bump for when I receive mine
Most touchpad people use Google docs for document editing, which works great.
I hate to say this, but the HP Touchpad is worth less than you paid for it. Its a relic already and HP has abandoned it. If you wanted a tablet, you should have gotten an iPad. Its the only viable tablet. Even the Android tablets are paperweights until someone comes up with something for them to do. I have been researching this for months for my work in business development for an IT company.
Indeed, there is a dearth of dual processor, flash-capable, internet browsing, kindle reading, personal media playing tablets out there with high-res screens and active homebrew communities at a $99 price point. I don’t understand why anyone bought a touchpad. Why, I hear it only has two or three fart apps....
Actually Quick Office should already be updated or will be this week. The update will allow document editing.

My touchpad is supposed to arrive tomorrow but I just got called that I need to go out of town for work tomorrow morning so I won’t be able to get it until Wed. :(
Thank you to the positive techies that answered my question. I will be a very happy camper indeed once it will let me document edit. In the mean time I have downloaded some notetaking software which will get me though until I get the update.
To the negative nellies: Why did you feel the need to even bother replying to this thread? Are you jealous that you didn’t get one or is there an equal divide between various computer geeks like there is in politics???
Or maybe not...
Honestly, if it never had another update it would be hard to argue that it's not a steal at $99.
