Need Help w? HP Touchpad Quickoffice

HELP!

I just manage to obtain one of the HP Touchpads that they were dumping for a ridiculously low amount of money. I love it, but I am not a computer techie type so I am experiencing a major learning curve.

How do you get the Quickoffice program to let you do data entry like writing a letter, creating a report? I asked my techie son about downloading an office softword program, but he claims that all I need is Quickoffice.

you might have to log on.

If that doesn't work, buy an iPad.

Congrats! I too got in on the amazing “firesale”..this thing is a GEM! Unfortunately as of right now, however, you can only read documents on that software..but I’m pretty sure there is 1) a 3rd party app in the app store that allows you to do that and 2) and update allowing for editing/creation of word docs coming soon for that program.

One of the misnomers about HP throughout all of this is that they are completely dropping any support or updates of WebOS..this completely untrue. I am LOVING this platform after just one week!

Also..be sure to sign up on the palm forum for more tips, tricks, apps, and advice you can ever handle...out of the box there is already a super easy way to make the pad run much smoother and faster...

Is there an App download for AP? I don’t know how you’d get a program on a tablet without an APP. You probably have to sign up for it

Ignore the “Buy an iPad” goofs.

You should google for an answer but on my iPad, I use Google docs.

It works well enough.

As of yet I am not on FR with my Touchpad, so that was just a typing error with my home computer.

Post your question on the Pre|Central TouchPad Forum

I'm new to the TouchPad, too, and those guys seem to have all the answers.

Know nothing about the HP Touchpad. But came across this on Google News: The 10 Best Things to Do With Your New $99 HP TouchPad.

I envy you guys who got that buy. I played with one a little at staples and liked it. When I heard about the sale I looked online. All sold out. :(

Are there apps for that? Like I said, I know nothing about the Touchpad.

There are reasons why HP, with all it’s marketing muscle, couldn’t convince anyone to buy the Touchpad, and ended up dumping them for cheap. One of the biggest is their choice of WebOS, which you now own the last version of. The lack of developer support made it impossible for HP to compete, and there will now be no more support for the product or any developers working on new apps for it. I wish you luck in finding a use for it, but suspect you’ll be pretty much limited to what’s on the market today.

If you’re not a techie it may not help, but there are web forums and support groups for nearly every piece of obsolete hardware ever made, and enthusiasts who will share info and try to develop new apps.

I haven’t decided if having my youngest work at Best Buy is a blessing or a curse. We are spending way too much money there.

Probably.

Hp had about 5000 apps, or so they said, when they cut it loose.

There’s an app icon on the touchpad that you can view all their apps.

Unfortunately, as much as I’ve tried to look, you can’t find any information on their apps, so I cannot be sure as to what they really offer.
