In the rural mountainous south, there are a number of log home buildings and builders. After the recent quake, I'm wondering if log structures might have an advantage when the ground shakes?

That can happen, Salamander. Just “fake” your way through it and say it was good. (I am giggling like crazy!!)

Yeah, I know.
Mine is just “old technology” of dovetail and chinking.
Still here after 3 centuries of Revolutionary/French & Indian/Civil War grief, though.
[though some outbuilding was burned during an Indian attack because we found the old charcoaled remnants of logs when digging fence post holes]
:)

Good question. 25 years ago, a friend and I built a log cabin on Lake Anna (not far from yesterday’s epicenter) waterfront property. Just spoke with him. Everything’s copacetic.

Does a log home falling apart in an earthquake make a noise if no one is left alive in the rubble?

It’s spelled Thai.
Sorry for posting in the wrong thread all. :)
I’ve seen that happen and was just baffled how anyone actually could accidentally post in the wrong thread.
Actually I still don’t know for sure! Sorry about that.

"Its spelled Thai." Not MY version. It's why I purposely capitalized THIGH.
(Such stems from the era when Hillary was running for office and the FR Hillary's Thighs meme and the FR Thailand meme were morphed.)
