Looks like from all the models that most of the East Coast will be under the gun in a few days from Hurricane Irene, so now is the time to start stocking up on water, ammo, canned food, toilet paper, gas and even an emergency generator. I live outside of Washington D.C. and remember the last time that T.S. Isabel hit, it took over 2 weeks to get the power back on and the panic that that caused. I also went down to New Orleans after Katrina and saw that first hand, so don't wait start stocking up now.
Thanks for the heads up .. sure wish we could steer some of it toward our FRiends in TX !
Stay dry and safe and don't let the looter bugs bite
I live aboard a small sailboat near Jax and I’m staying put and battening down, keeping my fingers crossed :(
Granted I was at Pax, I loved when they sent me up to the Head for something. Some of the best firecrackers in the World and the joke on the flight deck was, “If you see A.O.’s heading one way and EOD the other follow the A.O.’s.....LMAO!

TPC continues to shift to my track, intensity. Will have to shift more to ne as this is a major hit NC then nne to New England

Storm should be 3 or 4 on NC coast, 1 or 2 for New England. Heavy rains on saturated ground may be as big a story as wind there

Do you follow the “Big Dog” Trueblackman?
Get some extra mooring lines and hope you can ride it out.
“.. I hate to stop a good old fashioned DC weather panic”
Tell me you are kidding! When we get the news that three or four inches of snow may arrive, people start abandoning their cars. There isn’t a roll of toilet paper in a store, any store and even the ice cream is all gone. Seriously... last Winter, I saw an elderly woman hit a young man in his HEAD because he reached for the last quart of milk. (to anyone wondering... she got the last quart of milk)
Well we need to pray for your well being. How often do you need to do this?
Six Days a week and I have a nice stock of supplies for that and getting my hands on a heavy duty generator tonight with at least a week of gas. My NAVY experience has prepared me well and if I have to move then the truck is gassed up and emergency funds are on hand and in the bank.
Thanks Kevin. Hope all is well with you.
Yes I am good and just looking out for my Freeper Family along the East Coast.
Yeah, I remember Isabel. What a mess.
I live in Hampton Roads. That makes up practically neighbors! lol ;-)
Was stationed in Norfolk for 3 years and when you see the fleet leaving the jig is up and time to head inland.
Great. Time to pour soap on my filthy car. Thanks for the update.
From your lips to God’s ear!
Good observation....I hadn’t really thought about that. I agree that anything the fleet doesn’t want to stay for is gonna be real bad.
That's the kind of practical hint that's helped make FR famous !
We're all very proud of you !
