Lawyer steers car onto fresh wet cement, gets stuck

A female lawyer got into a sticky situation when she attempted a U-turn and drove straight onto a bed of freshly laid wet cement in Houston, Texas.

Road workers stationed in the city couldn't believe there eyes as the driver totally ignored the bright orange markers and planted all four-wheels of her £70,000 luxury Lexus square on the concrete.

The very first day I was home on R&R in 2007, I wanted to make a right at a stoplight, but a pickup-truck was in my way.

So, I drove up on the sidewalk and got around him and then oooops...remembered that I was home.

I got away with it, though. :)

How about asking if she had nappy hair, slanty eyes, a red dot, or a hooked nose? No you would never ask any of those questions because that would be racist, but it is fine to imply that someone with a hair color unique to the White race is stupid. My daughters are blond and I can assure you that they are not stupid.

Online commentators speculated that the driver was possibly waiting for the cement to dry so that it did not ruin her shoes.

But one man who witnessed the event said the police had told her to stay in the car for her safety.

'Changitochulito' wrote on website Reddit, 'The cop told the woman to stay in the car so she wouldn't get into the wet cement.

'The thing is they had just finished pouring and shaping the cement not but 5 minutes before it happened.

'They got the car out within 20 or so minutes after it happened and repaired the street 15 minutes after that.

'They yanked her out with a flat bed, while she was still in it.'

Other online posters quoted the famous phrase associated with the city, 'Houston, we have a problem'.

The dark coloured car, which had a Texas licence plate, is believed to be a Lexus GS which is sold for up to $70,000. The Houston Press reported that a lawyer is the registered owner.

Actually I’m making a point about political correctness. Every time I post I see this reminder.

Doggone Houston drivers! Wet streets, snow on the Gulf (Gulp) Freeway or wet cement anywhere.....maybe even on the sidewalks, it just ain't safe anymore.

Maybe that lawyer just wanted to catch up with you to tell you that it's ok to make a right turn after coming to a full stop even if the light was red. Looks like she made a left turn but WTH, she's a lawyer.

There have been no wet streets in Houston in a long, long time.

People are also likely forgetting bow to operate their windshield wipers.

(I know I can turn right on red - but the pickup truck was half in the left lane and half in the right, blocking me. The sidewalk was right there, so I...hey, it's how they do it in the Middle East...LOL)
