LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Posters have gone up in the area of Spring Street and Lexington Road about Job, a 5-month-old kitten that has been reported missing.
Job was taken from the animal shelter, to the Woodstock Animal Foundation, to a local couple for adoption. The kitten is also blind.
Anyone with information is asked to call 502-553-5740 or 502-396-0974

The point is it’s an animal thread — among many on FR — and many animal lovers on FR are glad to see them and participate in them. The point is that it’s about compassion for animals. The point is that it’s an informative thread and prayer works. The point is it’s allowed by the mod. The point is that if you don’t like such threads you are more than welcome to pass them by. 3. YOU are the one who chose to post an obnoxious statement on an obviously animal-lover thread, and WE are the ones who are defending our rights to post it.
4. There are no “flash mobs” here, but it sounds like you have experience in that area.
5. This is FREE Republic. That means we can post FREE-THINKING threads.
6. You just had the bad luck to post on a thread where folks get testy about animals.

And in you, my dear. The LACK of compassion we have seen from some posters here when ANY thread about animals is posted is beyond appalling. The reaction from these certain posters is sadly always predictable: 1) Get on the thread and whine about its presence (I know of no other type of thread where this occurs, by the way) 2) Get on the thread and whine about it NOT being about something else: animal rights, abortion, child abuse, whatever as long as it’s not compassion for animals or anything which would reflect such a position 3) Get on the thread and chide others for their compassion for animals. I wonder that those who use their energies in this manner don’t just pass up what doesn’t interest them...... Strange, strange.
A depressing ad about a missing blind cat is entertainment?
I was expecting that people of good will would step back and reconsider what the thread accomplishes. Evaluate the fruits...
