They're going to sell Coke there to drink, not for use as an abortifacient.

Err… what? China is a growth market. It would be insane and irresponsible to the shareholders for Coke not to invest there.
Coke is in the business of selling sugar water at high margins. Investing in China to sell to chinese customers let's them keep that edge.
