The more children are born to unwed mothers, the more people routinely divorce, the more promiscuity is culturally accepted - the more children are abused in every way. The destruction of the natural family and marriage causes devastation to children.

What I would add to the list is the practice of cohabitation. Given how active plenty of cohabitating adults are regarding religion, not to mention what plenty of religious authorities have had to say to deaf ears about cohabitation, I would reckon that if more people bothered going through the actual marriage process, even if just as a church sacrament, I feel that there would also be far more people who would care about how sacred marriage is. I mean think about it, marriage is a special commitment. If someone isn’t willing to make the full commitment, how sacred does he/she think that marriage is?
