I tell you what...I’m the co-guardian (with my mom) of a severely retarded older brother..and nothing gets me angrier FASTER than this kind of crap. 7th & 8th grade I was a short bus student in a special education school which was also a physical rehab center and another part of the school set aside for Downs etc. Two years showed me a side of life that would change the course of my adult life 14 years later.

I had friends with MD, CP, Polio, Spinal Bifia, quads and pari's due to acidents, Autism, deaf, legally blind, severe ADD ADHD, auditory or visual issues which affected learning. We interacted with the Downs students in school activities. Nobody picked on anybody due to their affliction. Those two years were my best years of school.
