I noticed the 'like' button for facebook is no longer on certain (all) articles. I would suggest re-adding this, and also adding the 'tweet' button to post on twitter.
Check out:
1. Twitter button code:

2. Facebook button code:

I’ve been here since 04 and never recall seeing Facebook or Twitter associations anywhere on FR.
Good luck with this petition. JimRob likely isn’t interested in those associations.
You suggest that we become twits?
I would recommend posting your suggestion on Facebook or twitter instead of FR?
I’ve definitely seen it here off and on.. I saw a bunch of people complain when it first showed up for reasons that made no sense to me. I’d love to see the Like button here make a return.
I’ve been here longer and I have seen the Facebook icons here at times.
Egads, does everything have to be about FB and Twitter? Enough already.
FB button has caused technical problems in the past.
The like button was there in the past, now it’s gone. Guess it caused technical problems.
Someone is always trying to raise the bar.
Like, yeah. Fer shur. That would not only be sooooo awesome, but really rad, too!
Like, I saw this picture the other day of some Mona Lisa babe and really, like, I’d suggest that, ya know, the guy who drew her could fix it up and be soooo much better if she had, like, a really hot Britney costume instead of that drab, dark dress thingie. And maybe, like, she could have last Wednesdays’... or maybe it was Tuesday’s, no Thursday’s, Lady Gaga hairstyle. Like get with the times, dood! An ya know, like florescent or neon colors in the background to really hot it up! Yeah!
And some radio station was playing some tune that was, like, a Brandenburg concert or sumthin, by some guy named Bork. I’d really like to suggest that maybe the guy who wrote that could add some, like, hip-hop beats to the drum track and maybe put some really awesome track scratches in a few places. It would make it really rad and sooooo kewl! And like, ya know, why didn’t he make it as a music video? That would be much more awesome!
As long as I’m suggesting, like, I heard of this thingie called the “Magna Carta”. Like, couldn’t it just be called the Big Card? And what’s such a big deal about it? Dood, I’d suggest that it be updated, like with a Nike swoosh or sumthin, so like, it would get the peep’s attention more. And the language probably should be changed so everyone could, like, ya know, read it or sumthin. I mean, the sentences are wayyyyyy too long and they use all those big words. Like, shorten it up and make it quick and snappy. That’d be like, hot, dood! Same with that guy Luther’s report that he nailed on some door.
And Freep could be so great if we could have, like, some really kewl avatars on each of our posts. And, hey, could a board op maybe change it over to phpBB? Like that would be so rad. Then we could have sigs like 20 or 30 lines long with all kinds of just awesome graphics instead of this stupid, limited one line thing. An like, we could have a bunch of colors for different threads, and IM messenger icons and links on every post. Plus a “Like” button, and a “Dislike” button and a “+1” button on every post so we could, like, like ‘n unlike and rank and vote on each post. I mean, like wouldn’t that just be totally rad and kewl, man?
And, ya know, maybe the board op could give us all gmail accounts, so like, we wouldn’t be so limited to the FReepmail page and all our kewl friends could forward all those really rad “VIRUS- THIS IS NO JOKE” emails that, like, let everyone know that Bill Gates will pay us for sending emails. And stuff.
Barely able to find the power on switch, apparently sometimes so mentally challenged that they have difficulty using a mouse with more than one button, and challenged by the sheer number of different characters on the key caps on their keyboard as they need a graphical user interface for everything, these cretins are perfect examples of the DunningKruger effect, being so incompetent that they think they’re Super Competent. In every field of endeavor they deign to address.
For many, it started with the Endless September in the early 90’s, when AOHell hooked up to the internet and foisted their subliterate, unwashed masses on what had been a reasonably well structured, polite means of communication and information exchange.
But having been online on BBS’s prior to that for a number of years, I can guarantee those crass, obnoxious retards were always there. They’re all over in real life. It’s just that being exposed with technology that’s so far above their competency level, their stultified mental faculties are magnified and displayed. Well, that and the fact that they put a lot of effort into exposing how much of a total fool they are.
Not only are the words “netiquette” and “etiquette” totally foreign to these lusers, but I don’t really think that they have enough brain cells to actually grasp either concept, let alone be able to do the research to find out what they are. The concepts are probably too mentally overpowering for their limited faculties.
Why should we make fun of and ridicule such mental retards? Because stupidity isn’t painful and there’s an outside chance - between slim and none, it seems - that they might actually learn something from such responses. Usually though, the point of the ridicule passes over their heads at, like, flight level 370 and they jump on every post pointing out infantile shortcomings and rant and rave at every such reply, pointing out how superior they are and how dorky and stupid everyone else is for not absolutely getting up a petition backing their original desired changes.
Or they never reply at all, until some future time, when they post another nonsensical, self-important “suggestion” or opinion, displaying their complete misunderstanding of how the world works and how absolutely irrelevant their little opinions are to anyone with more than a half dozen functional brain cells and ten percent of the self awareness of a clam.
To the OP, look up DunningKruger effect, and go somewhere where there are “board ops” who could give a da*n about your suggestions and opinions. Come back when your mental age exceeds the number of eggs in a carton.
The button was there, now it’s not. All I’m saying.
Your demeaning, baseless remarks are crass and immature.
