I’ve really become a fan of the Jeremy Brett version. I think I heard about it here on FR? He’s quite fruity, but I like it. Guilty pleasure, I guess. I haven’t watched any other versions of Sherlock—was always more of a Columbo/Kojak kinda guy. My wife doesn’t like Sherlock, but I’ve been watching a lot of it on netflix.

Jeremy Brett was born for the part. I’m not sure about fruity, I thik it’s all part and parcel with his interpretation of the character. Adding to your instant queue now lets you add the entire dvd, all the episodes. I watched two last night and will probably do the same later.

I love the Sherlock Holmes series with Jeremy Brett. I never got “fruity”... I would describe his character as “proper British” and “sometimes intellectually cold”. I thought the series was true to the story line. I guess it is a guilty pleasure. I also enjoyed the “Brother Cadfael” series as well. Another “who-dunnit” type series.
