I think I remember her citing the Statue of Liberty once while talking about immigration...that is almost always a bad sign.

But yeah, it isn’t totally fair to judge her for her position while on McCain’s ticket seeing as how leftwing he is on immigration. And to her credit, she supported the Arizona law.

But there is little to indicate she would be good on immigration. Would she oppose a path to citizenship for millions of future Democrats? Would she support attrition through enforcement? And what is her view on legal immigration? Does she support abolishing the absurd Diversity Visa program? And does she support allowing a million or more legal immigrants per year?

Who knows? I have no confidence that she would be any good on immigration, but she’d probably be no more worthless than Bush was, or Perry or Romney would be.

GOOD GRIEF!

The Governor the great state of Texas had better get much more vetted before I condidering throwing my support to him.

Granted, Sarah supported him heartily over Kay Bailey and that Ron Paul hack, Debra Medina.

Bachmann’s grade (the B- I think you’re referencing, although correct me if I’m wrong) is based off of stated positions from Minnesota. It’s not like there’s anything to be risked by talking tough next to Canada. She hasn’t introduced any legislation to curtail illegal immigration herself, although I applaud her for at least publicly talking the talk.

Hey,heres a word to the wise. The next time you feel like comparing Perrys stance on illegals to anyone other than McCain....well, to anybody, dont...Perry will ALWAYS lose, hands down.

It’s going to be a long summer for Perrydrones. The vetting process wil drive them crazy. Palin and her supporters? Been there, done that. She is the only prominent Republican who has been completely vetted.

OOooooohhhh. So it’s okay to say one thing and believe another for an election, is it? Why, she’s no better than Perry! Except that he got rid of sanctuary cities, put up cameras on the border, demanded from Obama directly that our southern border be SECURED.......

That’s what I’ve been trying to get across; none of them will do much about illegal aliens- yet Rick Perry catches all the flack.
He’s done the best he can with a state full of Mexicans and libs fighting him every step of the way.

Perry’s positions on open borders and his advocacy for illegal alien subsidies are so well known. He can’t deny them. So his minions like this dude try to twist Palin’s words in a vain effort to bring her down to his level..

Let’s see how he answers the gardasil issue. I saw the debate clip where he kept saying it was a prolife issue. Barf.

It might have had a lot more to do with this:

“The controversy over Perry’s decision deepened as it came to light that his former chief of staff was a lobbyist for Merck and that his chief of staff’s mother-in-law, Rep. Dianne White Delisi, was the state director of an advocacy group bankrolled by Merck to push legislatures across the country to put forward bills mandating the Gardasil vaccine for preteen girls.”

Sleazy.....just sleazy. If Palin had known this, I doub tshe would have endorsed Perry. He is too much like the CBC clowns in Alaska that she roped and branded.

“starting a war” was your terminology, not mine.

I was merely trying to point out, by quoting Palin, posting her own words, that conservatives shouldn’t be using double standards, giving a pass to one candidate, while excoriating another one for the same perceived attitude.

This election is going to be about jobs and the economy, spending, taxes.

If you go on any of the Perry threads, half the posts are not discussing the issues, or Perry, they are rants about Perry being unfit to even consider, because there are illegals in Texas and he didn’t go and personally round them up and deport them. At the same time Palin made very clear statements that can be interpreted as favoring amnesty.

If Perry had said what she said, every third post would be quoting it.

This was just a simple “what’s sauce for the goose, it’s sauce for the gander”.

So why don’t we all just stop this nonsense?

As I said and you can see, I don’t go around saying negative things about Palin, I think she is to be admired and would make a great president, if she got that far, but I think she is smart enough to know that this is not her time and is not running.

So in my simple conservative mind, I think the objective is to defeat Obama and who do you think will do it, if not Perry?

We can deport every last one of them - including rounding them up if we have the will. Eisenhower got rid of several million illegals in operation Wetback.

There are probably several million illegals in any 15-square-foot mile area of So. Cal. alone. I tell you and you had better believe me: if we attempted to round-up and depart "every last one of them," there would be BLOODSHED in the streets and riots, violence, and an ugly forced divide between otherwise-friends the likes of which we've never seen.

There are better ways to solve this problem. First, dump the minimum wage -- it is the equivalent of a respectable middle-class wage south of the border, and illegals' legal competition for those jobs is made up of teen-agers and unskilled, uneducated folks who mostly have a bad work ethic. The minimum wage both invites the illegals here and employers to prefer them because they have a better work ethic. I know because I've worked beside illegals and will tell you outright that many times, I'd rather have the illegal alien who had a good attitude, showed up for work every day, was honest and trustworthy, and VALUED HIS JOB, as a co-worker, than a legal co-worker who was a drop-out with zero skills, an entitlement mentality, showed up for work sporadically, and was too young and/or stupid to value his job.

The other half of getting rid of them WITHOUT bloodshed would be to end the welfare/medical/education/freebies/housing/etc.etc. that illegals get when they move here.

Your way is stupid, bloody, and would do FAR FAR FAR more harm than good. My way would restore economic freedom and a good work ethic.
