"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

I’m suspecting that Ed is running an old show, given that the Dragnet and Gunsmoke episodes are out of the sequence he wad on -— although Ed has another 9:30 mystery show for us.

Hello, Friends!
We were also surprised Johnny Dollar is a no-show, but he’s back next week, according to the WAMU schedule.

Wasn’t there an old movie titled something like “The Big Broadcast?” W.C. Fields. An early TV broadcasting of a bicycle race? As I recall it was hilarious!
To: steelyourfaith
Hey, it must be a very old show. Can’t remember how long it’s been without JD.

Hey Doc! Nice to see you here.
Back in the 1930s there were a series of yearly "The Big Broadcast of 193_" movies. Comedies. In one Bob hope did a duet with some lady on the tune that became his theme song, "Thanks for the Memories".

Hello, SteelYourFaith!
We’re not cooking anything right now. I cooked all day yesterday for our friends (an almost 80-year-old couple we have drinks and dinner with every Saturday evening). Keith smoked a couple of chickens, and I made my “famous” baked beans and delicious classic potato salad.
Tonight, it may be a doctored DiGiorno pizza in the oven. :-)

Interesting system glitch! The system is telling me that neither you nor steelyourfaith exist! Only when I try to answer you both at the same time. Odd!
