He deserves it!
Newt was right to attack him and his line of questions. The audience agreed.
This wasn't his tv show. People wanted to hear the candidates discuss important issues.
You embarrassed yourself, Chris. (Though Newt did a good job of making you look like a jerk)
Susan Ferrechio did the best job of any of them.
I found Chris Wallace’s rebuttal more offensive than the original question. It was his and the panel’s job to ask tough questions and, per his entirely too defensive rebuttal, about their ‘record.’ A campaign personnel issue is not Newt’s or anyone else’s ‘record.’
From my POV, Newt did win the night on the debate, but I don’t see that getting him the nomination. He is unquestionably the smartest of all candidates, announced and not, but he’s done himself in with his personal behavior. He just doesn’t have a presidential temperament, which would include self-restraint (only Clinton gets a pass on that).
I think that's the issue.
I'm not opposed at all to tough questioning, particularly when you're in the process of thinning out the herd for the highest office in the land.
However, it would've been nice for someone, ANYONE, in the MSM to have asked Obama something a little more challenging than, "If your father were alive today, what would he think of your run for the presidency?"
He’ll have a nice plum job waiting when Jim Lehrer retires.
